What You Can Expect
Duties include preparation of any type of legal documents, document collection and review, coordinating all aspects of project intake and tracking, and maintaining project files.
Supporting the department contract lifecycle management systems and related uploads, as well as coordination of outside counsels.
Coordinate all aspects of the department's timely, complete and accurate responses to numerous simultaneous requests in project matters.
Assist in drafting correspondence, various contracts, amendments, legal letters, and other related documents in various areas (distribution agreements, sales agency agreements, consultancy agreements with healthcare professionals).
Assist with the execution of agreements and documentation to be signed internally or externally.
Assist in-house legal counsel in charge of Business development projects (i.e.: mergers and acquisitions, distribution or co-partnership agreements) with legal tasks including organizing legal information for due diligence activities, drafting due diligence reports, and coordinating deal documentation preparation and execution.
Assist in-house legal counsel in charge of Corporate activities by drafting related documentation (shareholders' decisions, board's minutes, agenda) and supporting execution and filing activities, including corporate documentation archiving.
Review and analyze documents submitted to the legal department, cross-checking and validating information.
Organize and maintain accurate filing and archiving for all projects.
Maintain project status spreadsheet and contracts database accurately and timely.
Support uploading into Legisway (contract management system) agreements and related documents.
Coordinate with outside legal counsels on specific assignments, review preliminary advice, and provide recommendations to the internal supervising attorney.
Act as liaison with various internal departments and personnel, collaborating and following up on requests and ongoing projects.
Assist in developing, implementing and optimizing processes and systems to increase the efficiency of the Legal Department.
What Makes You Stand Out
Paralegal certification and/or a bachelor's degree in law or equivalent.
Experience of 7+ years in paralegal or similar roles supporting Legal functions.
Experience in the Life Sciences Industry (medical device ideally) and/or in an international law firm is preferred.
Extensive knowledge of legal principles and practices, legal research techniques, and international contracting principles.
In-depth legal knowledge of various European jurisdictions, with international experience is a plus.
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Adobe PDF, and PowerPoint.
Experience with a contract management system is a plus (i.e., Legisway from Wolters Kluwer or equivalent).
Fluent in Spanish and English; French or German is a plus.

Ability to work in different languages (native Spanish and fluent in English mandatory; French or German is a plus).
Strong organizational, interpersonal, and written communication skills.
Ability to work in a team environment and report regularly to manager and department lawyers.
Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to review and organize numerous legal documents in complex matters.
Detail-oriented and accurate.
Proactive in addressing problems and making continuous process improvements, with a high sense of autonomy.
Demonstrated follow-through on assignments and ability to ensure accuracy and completeness without prompting from supervisors.
Travel Expectations
None in the day to day. Attend in person when required for department meetings.
Zimmer Biomet office located in Barcelona, Spain. Possibility to work remotely 2 days per week.
