DEIMOS is selecting one engineer to be integrated in the Functional Avionics (FAV) Competence Centre in one of our sites in Europe (Tres Cantos, Harwell, Lisboa, Puertollano or Italy) to support new growth areas in Functional Verification.
The work of the FAV Competence Centre is mainly oriented to design avionics architectures especially focused on AOCS subsystems, Functional verification architectures especially for project phases C/D, FDIR definition, interfaces definition to support GNC and Flight Software architects.
As a matter of reference, DEIMOS' activities cover: Satellite formation flying, rendezvous, in-orbit servicing (IOS) and active debris removal (ADR) Entry, descent, and landing on planets (Earth, Mars) & natural satellites.
Launch vehicles.
Earth observation, up-stream (flight segment) and downstream Interplanetary exploration and navigation Unmanned autonomous vehicles (UAVs, UGVs) System and mission design Main Duties: The following types of responsibilities are envisioned: Support the definition and analysis of top-leveldesign and requirements for space systems.
Support design definition and analysis of operational concepts.
Support FDIR design and definition.
Support the generation and maintenance of flight operations documentation including CONOPS, Operational Plans, Flight Operational Procedures, User Manuals, etc.
Support architecture definition, analysis,and decision-making processes for space systems.
Support the verification and validation of flight operations plans, processes,and procedures.
Support preparation, execution and reporting of Spacecraft Validation Test (SVT) and System Operational Validation (SOV) campaigns.
Interaction with all spacecraft subsystems and software teams to define use cases for on-ground and on-orbit operations.
Support the interaction with external stakeholders (e.g.
customers, suppliers, partners, institutions, regulators) representing Deimostechnical team within the frame of the assigned programs.
Training of Juniors.
Education: A recognized engineering degree (Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical, Electronic) or a related degree (e.g., Physics, Maths).
Professional Experience: Senior Operations Engineer ideally with more than 10 years' experience and demonstrated solid technical background in the Aerospace Sector.
The position will be tailored to the level of experience and additional industrial experience would be viewed very positively.
Technical Requirements: The following capabilities are required for the position: Demonstrable experience in real-time flight operations (operating space and/or ground systems).
Demonstrable experiencewith V&V campaigns with Earth Observation satellites and/or launchers.
Familiarity with typical Space and Ground Segment architectural solutions.
Familiarity with Mission Control Software architectures.
Familiarity with typical spacecraft platform architectures.
Awareness of relevant space industry standards (e.g.
ECSS,CSPor CCSDS).
Proactive attitude and ability to work in team and individually.
Familiarity with PIL/HIL test campaign Familiarity with PUS concept and to work under ECSS schemes.
Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and effectively.
Demonstrable experience in the preparation of flight operations documentation; Solid knowledge of Systems Engineering processes; Solid knowledge of Orbital and Attitude Dynamics; Full professional proficiency in English.
Nice to have full professional proficiency in Spanish.
