The Role & What You Will Be Doing As the Senior Compliance Manager for Spain, you will be the main advisor and business partner for the Spanish affiliate, responsible for developing, implementing, and managing the compliance program in alignment with regional and global teams.
Your role involves driving change within a dynamic and fast-growing organization, particularly during acquisitions, mergers, business transformations, or other significant company developments.
Every day, we rise to the challenge to make a difference, and here's how the Senior Manager Europe Regional Compliance role will make an impact: INDIVIDUAL Compliance Business Partner: Serve as compliance business partner to the Spanish affiliate(s), including conducting periodic compliance committee meetings with the executive management team and regularly advising management on compliance risks and mitigation strategies in support of business strategy, objectives, and operations.
Compliance Program: Drive the development, implementation, continuous improvement, and administration of the Compliance program in Spain, in line with the strategy set forth by the Head of Compliance Europe and Director, Europe Country Compliance Spain and Portugal, leveraging the resources provided by the Compliance Centers of Excellence (COEs) and Compliance Hub, including but not limited to: Develop, initiate, maintain, and revise policies and procedures for the general operation of the Compliance program and its related activities, and support operational departments in developing and communicating new and enhanced policies and procedures.
Provide ongoing guidance to senior leaders, managers, Company personnel, and third-party providers when applicable, regarding compliance with applicable compliance policies, procedures, and related Company policies.
In coordination with the Manager Compliance Risk Assessment, Monitoring, and Training, support in developing content and conducting trainings for employees of the Spanish affiliate, in particular senior level management.
When needed, support the Global Compliance Investigations COE for investigations conducted in Spain.
Stay apprised of legal and regulatory changes, trade association codes, and industry best practices regarding compliance and strive to implement continuous enhancements to the Company's compliance program accordingly.
Within the framework of mergers & acquisitions, co-promotion / distribution deals, or divestments, provide support related to Compliance activities in Spain.
SHARED Regional Compliance Lead and/or Regional Project Support: As a function of the evolution of business activities, emerging regional teams, and compliance support needs, the Senior Compliance Manager Spain may also be called upon to serve as a Regional Compliance Lead or support in regional projects, including but not limited to: Serve as a primary Compliance point of contact for a certain regional business team or initiative in Europe.
Collaborate with the Europe Compliance Policy, Training & Communications Lead, to implement Policies and Procedures related to certain regional business vertical activities or projects and conduct respective trainings to Europe Compliance team and Business functions in the region.
Provide support and guidance to the Compliance Officers and Liaisons, across the European region, in the management of activities of certain regional business vertical.
Identify and recommend enhancements to existing practices and other corrective actions as may be appropriate in relation to activities of certain business verticals.
Provide regular reports to the Head of Compliance Europe on activities of certain regional business verticals or initiatives in the region.
About Your Skills & Experience For this role, we're looking for a candidate who has an effective combination of the following qualifications, skills, and experiences: Graduate Degree in a related field (law or business management) is also required.
However, a combination of experience and education will be taken into consideration.
At least 10 years of experience in Pharmaceutical Compliance and/or related governance, legal, finance or audit function experience.
Must possess experience with pharmaceutical legal issues in Spain as a compliance officer or in-house corporate counsel, including but not limited to healthcare fraud and abuse laws, False Claims Act, appropriate drug marketing and promotion; anti-corruption laws including US FCPA and UK Bribery Act; fair competition laws; data privacy issues, ability to analyze and develop reports; and other compliance issues affecting a multi-national pharmaceutical business.
The successful candidate must have strong fluency in English with the ability to read, write and understand fully, laws, regulations, company policies, financial and other business records.
Candidate must have strong public speaking skills in English and possess the ability to communicate and work closely with personnel at all levels of the organization, from senior executives to plant workers.
Additional language and fluency are a plus.
