To strengthen our team in León, we are looking for you as a Senior Manager Contracting - Biopharma CDMO.
The position is based in León (Spain), but you will have an international role, reporting to the Head of Global Client & Contract Management (in Munich), belonging to the BioPharma Business Unit – the Contract Development and Manufacturing arm of Wacker for Biopharmaceuticals.
Your Responsibilities Facilitate and drive negotiation of all service contracts for new and existing clients including amendments. Lead the interdisciplinary negotiation team supported by Corporate Legal and/or external counsels.Act as single point of contact for the client and represent business/commercial aspects during negotiation phase (including decision making and hands-on redlining together with Legal/IP).Coordinate all stakeholders (Legal, IP, Insurance, Finance/Accounting, Tax, Logistics, etc.) and collect input of subject matter experts as needed.Drive closure of feasibility-, process development-, clinical and commercial agreements.Manage external legal counsels in alignment with Corporate Legal. Monitor budget and review invoices.Define an appropriate negotiation strategy for each case & bridge legal, operational, commercial.Help to develop and maintain an internal 'play book' of fall-back positions for all relevant contractual matters.Proactively contribute to improvements of the contract negotiation process, optimized contract templates and term sheets.Propose new mechanisms and alternative language to ensure (i) customary contractual terms, (ii) acceptance by clients, (iii) efficient contracting, (iv) calculable risk exposure of Wacker.Give internal legal / contract trainings within the BU.Support as 'contract specialist' as needed (e.g. internal escalation meetings, external Steering Committee Meetings or arbitration proceedings).Your Profile Academic education (min. Bachelor degree, Master preferred) in Economics, Legal or Natural Sciences.At least 8 years of relevant professional experience.Professional negotiator with track record in closing complex service agreements; experience in leading contract negotiations from virtual Biotech's to Big Pharma.In depth knowledge and understanding of the contract manufacturing industry (preferably related to Biopharmaceuticals). Solid understanding of the pharmaceutical development process including CMC (chemistry-manufacturing-controls), quality assurance and regulatory. Expert knowledge in all legal and commercial aspects of complex service & supply contracts.High affinity to legal topics and good understanding of risk exposure and risk limitation mechanisms in service & supply contracts. Quick perception and ability to develop/sell solutions to contract partners.Experience in leading and steering of contract negotiations for contract/toll manufacturing of (Bio-)Pharmaceuticals in clinical and commercial phase. Proven track record of driving contract negotiations with multiple stakeholders and in an international environment. Experience in working in matrix organizations and interacting with Legal, IP, Insurance, Tax, Finance/Accounting, etc.Very high level of English (verbal and text form).Ability to analyze complex contracts and understand interdependencies.High level of proactivity, independence and analytical skills.Preferably experience in generating, harmonizing and optimizing contract templates and term sheets.Understanding of the production process and product life cycle of biopharmaceuticals.You can find an overview of benefits at WACKER on our careers page.
