The AML Regulatory Governance mission is to provide efficient, consistent and high-quality support on AML compliance strategy across all the business units in EMEA. In this sense we are looking for a motivated, proactive Senior Manager experienced in AML Regulatory analysis who will be part of this newly established team. The role will have the opportunity to work across various Compliance teams in EMEA Markets and across International and gain regular exposure to senior stakeholders across the organization. This Senior Manager will also collaborate closely with the European AML General Counsel Office and Global Financial Crimes Organization.
Responsibilities:This role will report to the AML Regulatory Governance Director and will be primarily focused on the AML regulatory change management and assessment of main impacts of the new regulations in EMEA. This role will act in strong collaboration with the EMEA General Counsel Office AML and GFCC organization at the regional level in injecting regulatory culture in the regional AML regulatory strategy.
Main areas of focus will be:Regulatory Change Management: assessment of AML requirements to be conducted jointly with the Legal European Stakeholders and single market experts.New Products/Initiatives assessment: Identify AML applicable requirements for Pan-European/Multi Market new products/services launch and act as Compliance focus point on the Multi Market regulatory initiatives.Requirements mapping and consolidation: Consolidation of the existing AML requirements in order to ensure where possible a common approach at EMEA regional level in partnership with Compliance & Legal Stakeholders to define high level definition of compliance/business/functional requirements.Regulatory assessment for strategic initiatives in the region: Interaction with the relevant stakeholders (GFCC, OpEx, LoBCos) on the requirements analysis outcomes.Oversight of Regulatory reporting: Provide oversight of the regulatory reporting/support on regulatory ad-hoc interactions ensuring a Pan-European consistency of the messages.External Intelligence: Identify the most recent Regulatory trends ensuring an ongoing improvement of the External view on AML solutions in collaboration with other internal stakeholders.Qualifications and Experience required:Experienced, credible and technical leader with 7+ years of financial services related experience.Knowledge of AXP AML/CFT Framework, policies and procedures.Experience in payments industry regulation law is desirable and familiarity with one or more of the following areas would be helpful: payment services and payment schemes.Extensive knowledge of regulatory AML/CFT risks in the EMEA markets.Strong consultation, communication, facilitation and presentation skills; demonstrated ability to understand complex challenges & linkages and articulate into plans to drive results.Communicates in a timely and straightforward manner, keeping everyone involved informed of progress and issues.Ability to lead and affect process change and improvements.Strong analytical skills and an innovative approach to solving both practical and theoretical problems.Intellectual curiosity, adaptability in a dynamic environment, and ability to reinvent processes and infrastructure.Ability to build strong working relationships, operate in large cross-functional teams, and influence colleagues to drive change.Ability to communicate and interact effectively with all levels in the organization as well as with external partners.Fluency in English and Spanish; additional language skills will be considered as a bonus.Why American Express?There's a difference between having a job and making a difference.
