At Sonder You Will:Lead and drive corporate governance matters for EMEA including subsidiary set-up, board minutes, powers of attorney, entity maintenance, review and draft corporate policies.Lead and drive legal counseling in a wide range of legal areas in EMEA, such as commercial law, regulatory compliance, employment law, corporate affairs, intellectual property, litigation and other areas.Partner with Sonder business teams and drive legal negotiations on commercial contracts in EMEA to ensure the best commercial outcome for Sonder.Identify opportunities and lead implementation, maintenance, and monitoring of various EMEA corporate governance practices, improvements and policies to increase scalability and efficiency of the Legal department and the EMEA team.Work closely with Human Resources and Stock Administration to support compensation matters and support the Stock Administration team for EMEA matters.Collaborate with EMEA business partners to ensure that all third party related work and services undertaken by Sonder is in alignment with the Company's overall mission, messaging and strategy.Identify blockers to Sonder's growth and develop ideas to eliminate those blockers while protecting Sonder's short, medium and long term interests.Proactively seek to get involved in legal work throughout EMEA which relates to commercial, corporate or any other legal area.Establish and execute strategies for legal training to business partners throughout EMEA.Speak up when opportunities are identified to improve on processes used by our business partners.What We Look For:At least 10 years of relevant experience with experience in various areas of law such as general corporate law, commercial law, corporate governance, employment law, litigation, regulatory compliance, data privacy laws (including GDPR), corporate affairs.Fluency in written and spoken English is a must.Previous global law firm and hospitality in-house experience preferred.Extensive experience in negotiating and drafting general commercial contracts.Demonstrated experience effectively collaborating with stakeholders from a variety of commercial disciplines.Hands-on project management experience, including the ability to manage a large number and variety of mission-critical projects, working independently and often in ambiguous environments.Comfortable working cross-functionally to better understand and support Sonder.An ultimate team player with strong written and verbal communication skills.Actively licensed and in good standing in a European country and excellent academic credentials.Willingness to travel around EMEA to work effectively with different business partners.We also have great benefits to make your life easier so you can focus on what you're best at:Competitive compensation.Generous stock option plan.Medical, dental and vision insurance (where applicable).Flexible vacation.Annual free credits and discounts to stay in Sonders.A company with a huge vision, a dynamic work environment, and a team of smart, ambitious and fun to work-with colleagues!We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at our company.
