The position is a full-time role with primary responsibilities including the operation and calibration of LECO, AAS, ICPOES, and ICPMS instrumentations. These responsibilities may vary based on the candidate's previous experience and business needs.During the training period, the role will be on a day shift schedule. However, the successful candidate must be available to work on a weekly rotating shift roster, which may include day, afternoon, and night shifts, as well as occasional weekend work.Recent graduates are encouraged to apply!The day to dayThe successful applicants will undertake a range of duties including the following:Analysis of samples using LECO, AAS, ICPOES and ICPMS instrumentationPerform instrument/equipment calibration and maintenance as requiredTroubleshooting of instrument/quality issuesCalibration of standards and instrument QC solutionsQC raw data review of resultsEnsuring that client turn-around times are metOnce training is complete, be able to work autonomouslyOther duties as the role progressesThe essentialsThe successful candidate will possess the following skills and abilities:A tertiary qualification or Diploma in a Chemistry related field is preferredStrong attention to detail and the ability to maintain focusPrevious or similar instrumentation experience is desirableBe able to work within a team environmentBe able to multi-task and produce accurate resultsBe willing to work shift workWorking at ALSOur people drive our success at ALS.
