Senior IT Category Manager (all genders)
As Senior IT Category Manager at Amadeus, you'll be at the heart of a system that powers 150 airlines, hundreds of websites, tens of airports, and thousands of hotel properties.
You'll drive the development of global category practices, manage end-to-end sourcing processes, and play a pivotal role in defining category strategies on a global scale.
In this role, you will be responsible for the infrastructure category, which covers hardware, security, hosting, datacomms, and personal equipment for the full Amadeus scope.
In addition to these responsibilities, you'll also lead a team of three category buyers, dedicated to covering all regions worldwide and cooperate with regional buyers for APAC, NORAM, LATAM, and MEA regions.
You'll be fostering their professional growth while coordinating efforts to achieve strategic goals. This leadership role adds a significant dimension to your impact, extending your influence across multiple regions.
Responsibilities:
Execute Global categories, lead sourcing projects, contract implementation & drive contract compliance.
Manage end-to-end sourcing processes from negotiation to contract.
Establish measures and controls for the Category practice to ensure and track successful implementation.
Coordinate contract implementation tasks with Regional Buyers and users.
Interact with Legal and Finance teams when required in relation to purchasing scope.
Ensure that any goods or services required by the company are selected, ordered, and delivered in a timely manner, at best cost and in accordance with purchasing policy.
Responsible for Risk & Regulation management, identifying and monitoring closely Vendor Risk, Regulation, and Vendor Performance.
Define Initiatives, KPIs, and Scorecard related to Risk, Regulation, and Performance.
Ensure Amadeus includes all the appropriate measures and requirements in our third parties relationship to maintain our asset and customer safety.
Stay current with evolving industry and regulatory changes impacting supplier risk management.
Manage the procurement strategy definition and implementation from Strategic planning to sourcing execution for a set of global categories.
Analyze and set category spend baseline and category profile, including risk assessment, SRM, and P2P strategy.
Develop specific Category strategies with the support of the Category Lead buyers.
Support the Cluster Lead in the definition of a priority list of categories suitable for strategic sourcing initiatives.
Lead internal and external analysis (industry and supplier) as a member of a cross-functional sourcing team.
Manage supplier relationships for Global categories.
Support the classification and categorization of suppliers.
Continuously track supplier performance and lead supplier development activities.
Identify potential contract improvement opportunities & re-negotiations.
Manage internal customer relationships for global categories.
Organize sessions with internal customers to identify further TCO / TVO reduction opportunities.
Improve and reinforce procurement's profile and recognition within the internal customer community.
Contribute to the Public cloud journey for Purchasing organization.
Define future Purchasing operating model in the context of movement to Public cloud.
Lead the team of Category buyers, manage and coordinate team activity.
Define objectives and ensure development reviews.

Who are we looking for?
Over 5 years' experience within a strategic procurement environment or a background in Engineering or Sales supplemented by relevant job experience.
Strong technical acumen to understand and contribute to complex technical discussions.
Familiarity with public cloud services and their corresponding supply chain.
Skills in procurement analysis, including understanding and challenging specifications and requirements.
Knowledge of products/services related to the specific category under job responsibility.
Experience in managing Strategic Sourcing Projects is a must.
Knowledge to develop and follow-up on the supplier screening and selection process through RFx tools.
Proficiency in negotiating Contractual Legal Frameworks and managing contract lifecycle.
Proficiency in English, other languages are a plus.
