To help us develop these concepts, we @Technica-Engineering are building a completely new engineering team located in the Barcelona area, working closely with company headquarters in Munich.
This is going to be an interdisciplinary team composed of hardware and software experts focused on the development of the company's own product roadmap and Proof of Concepts and Prototypes for clients, mostly OEMs.

MAIN FUNCTIONS Participate in system architecture definition at early project phases and in pure research projects with non-fixed requirements at project kick-off.
Provide appropriate feedback to customer and internal stakeholders to ensure the best architecture selection.
Lead hardware designs, including component selection, schematic creation, and PCB layout routing according to the defined processes and procedures.
Support the PCB team regarding specific power requirements and EMC good practices.
As a Senior member, support technically and organizationally the other members of the group, focusing on less experienced members, helping and mentoring them.
Understand global product requirements and system architecture to perform appropriate hardware design.
Be able to make worst-case calculations, power deratings & simulations if required to assure design robustness.
Prepare and execute test plans to assure design quality with specific hardware testing of each block.
Investigate issues during hardware bring-up and identify and fix problems found on validation or by external parties in the assigned electronic system.
Prepare EMC/Electrical/ESD test plans and coordinate test activities as well as investigation activities if required.
Validate and analyze hardware prototypes and assure robust HW-SW integration.
Provide technical support within area of expertise to other team members.
Research new technologies, ideas, and trends within your area of expertise and attend relevant conferences or seminars to ensure the organization remains up to date with current technological developments.
Participate in demos of team capabilities to company management and customers with the creation of prototype setups, sometimes to be presented at fairs where the company is present.
Generate accurate periodic reporting of progress and blocking points to communicate efficiently with the team and customers.
REQUIREMENTS / SKILLS At least 5+ years of experience in the development and/or design of hardware for electronic devices.
Good team player with strong analytical and investigation skills to work in research projects with new technologies in early design phases.
Experience leading HW groups with a focus on fast prototype and flexible HW development.
Experience in complex projects with multiple power rails at different voltages and complex architectures with combinations of several switching and linear regulators for complex SOC & FPGA devices.
Experience in low noise and EMI optimization of DC/DC converters and hands-on experience on EMI/EMC analysis of power electronics designs.
Knowledge of thermal management risks and challenges, as well as practical knowledge of component selection, thermal modeling, heatsink calculations, etc.
Knowledge of how to optimize circuit design for ease of manufacturing processes and electronics testing (DFM / DFT).
Experience and ability to use laboratory instrumentation (oscilloscopes, active/passive/current probes, power supplies, electronic loads, logic analyzers, spectrum analyzers).
Precise soldering skills (SMD components, fine pitch ICs).
Knowledge of all switched mode power supply topologies used in automotive designs.
Experience in power-supply requirements specific for automotive applications is desirable.
Knowledge of different communication bus interfaces is desirable.
Knowledge of specific automotive test regulations is desirable.
Practical knowledge of functional safety standards such as ISO26262 is desirable.
Experience in power integrity design and simulation tools is desirable.
Experience with thermal modeling packages is a bonus.
Fluency in English is a must; German is nice to have.
