What You'll Do As a Senior Game Designer, you will be at the forefront of developing our new games, driving the core design and ensuring an exceptional gameplay experience. Reporting to your Studio GM, you will work in collaboration with Engineering, Product, Art, UX, and QA teams to bring innovative game concepts to life. In this role, you will:
Prototype New Ideas: Rapidly create and iterate on prototypes to test new gameplay concepts. This involves using various tools and methods to bring rough ideas into playable forms, allowing for quick feedback and iteration. Design Core Gameplay Elements: Be responsible for the fundamental designs in the game, including pacing, game feel, input systems, cameras, and overall game mechanics. This includes ensuring that controls are intuitive, responses are satisfying, and gameplay is engaging and fun. Market Trends Analysis: Keep up with the latest trends and best practices in the industry to infuse our games with fresh and innovative ideas. This includes studying successful games, recognizing player preferences, and staying ahead of emerging trends to ensure our games remain competitive and engaging. All-Rounded Design: As part of a small and dynamic team, be prepared to wear multiple hats. This includes involvement in level design, economy balancing, and other design aspects to ensure a holistic and well-rounded development process. Innovate and Iterate: Develop and refine game mechanics that set our games apart. Use player feedback and data to iterate on designs, ensuring a polished and engaging final product. Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with cross-disciplinary teams, including Art, UX, and Engineering, to ensure cohesive visual style and smooth implementation of game features. Clear communication and detailed documentation of design concepts are essential. Creative Vision: Contribute to the overall creative vision of the game. Provide valuable insights and feedback to ensure all aspects of the game align with the intended experience. Feature Specification and Documentation: Create comprehensive game design documents, including feature specifications, user flows, and prototypes, ensuring they are accessible and understandable by the entire development team. This is you Proven experience as a Senior Designer within the mobile free-to-play gaming industry, Exceptional gameplay design skills, with a strong understanding of game pacing, feel, input systems, and camera mechanics. Ability to thrive in a dynamic, international, and cross-disciplinary team environment. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of working collaboratively and independently. A proactive approach to receiving and providing constructive feedback. Current knowledge of trends in casual mobile games. Proficient in designing complex systems across Core, Meta, and Social game layers. Demonstrated ability to lead user-centric design initiatives and brainstorming sessions. A track record of developing impactful features for new game projects. Skilled in designing, conducting, and analyzing playtests. Passionate about crafting polished, innovative gameplay experiences for casual mobile games. Solid understanding of game design fundamentals and theory. Excellent communication skills, effective both in-person and remotely.
