Our team is working with two internal and several external game development studios to create engaging mobile first games for the wide audience. Modern games are not living entirely on the mobile devices, but use backend platforms to enable interactive systems and features, such as matchmaking, leaderboards, live events, season passes and more.
As a member of the central Sandsoft Tech function you will be working with multiple studios helping them to build gameplay systems to engage with players, track their progress, creating features such as stores, crafting, inventories and many more.
What you will do: Share your deep expertise in game backends with multiple development teams, empowering them to build compelling game features.
Develop game architectures using PlayFab or similar platforms, AWS or Azure resources to ensure seamless integration and performance.
Construct gameplay systems and features like leaderboards, live events, season pass, level progression, crafting, shops, and in-app purchases.
Implement robust backend validation mechanisms to safeguard game logic and prevent cheating or exploits.
Craft detailed technical specifications, design documents, and collaborate with designers to ensure technical feasibility.
Contribute clean, maintainable client-side and backend code, utilizing Unity and PlayFab Blueprints.
Plan, research, and architect new services based on stakeholder priorities.
Mentor team members, conduct technical interviews, and take ownership of specific gameplay systems and features.
What you will bring: 5+ years of experience in gaming software engineering, specializing in PlayFab and related frameworks.
Expertise in PlayFab or similar game management platforms.
Experience with Azure functions, SignalR, Redis, AWS, DataDog, Kibana, Jenkins, GitHub actions is a big plus.
Proven experience with serverless game backend architecture.
Familiarity with Unity development and testing automation frameworks.
Demonstrated ability to lead feature development from inception to completion, including requirements gathering, design documentation, implementation, testing, and monitoring.
Exceptional organizational, follow-through, and quality-assurance skills.
A positive, collaborative, and professional demeanor.
Bonus Experience Multiplayer game development experience, including dedicated servers, replication, and client prediction.
