About the Job
The Principal Flow Assurance Engineer is part of the engineering team based in Paris and the wider global discipline engineering community they are associated with.
The Principal Flow Assurance Engineer will need to demonstrate relevant expertise in this discipline as per description below and is also expected to have additional competencies in CFD and/or Process allowing diversification of jobs in addition to Flow Assurance.
They should be able to perform engineering discipline tasks independently: analysis and report writing, requiring limited input and support from the Manager/Lead. Significant experience with the relevant simulation software for the discipline is a necessity for the role.
The work performed will be varied and activities include front end conceptual studies, detailed design and operational support activities often with direct interface with the Client. The role performs and sometimes leads engineering analysis to identify optimal solutions based on client drivers and be able to efficiently communicate these solutions through technical reports and presentations.
Main Accountabilities and Responsibilities
Controls relevant discipline engineering activities to ensure completion of safe and operable design in accordance with Genesis and project requirements, relevant laws, regulations and codes.
Reviews job scope and provides estimates and schedules.
Communicates regularly with Client / Study Manager to ensure objectives are being met in a timely manner.
Reviews all relevant discipline data.
Interfaces with other engineering disciplines.
Performs simulation of selected cases as defined by project.
Undertakes calculations in accordance with Genesis and project quality requirements.
Develops engineering strategies, philosophies and procedures.
Performs quality checks of discipline models, calculations and reports.
Participates in project presentations to communicate results.
Reviews all data requested by Client for approval.
Participates in safety and design review meetings, where necessary.
Provides support to younger engineers and mentor assigned personnel.
Participates in Genesis global knowledge sharing initiatives within their engineering discipline.
Performs all reasonable job tasks required by their Manager/Lead.
Capacity to lead small discipline engineering teams and/or lead small projects.
Sustain a high value Safety culture and assure a safe working environment in keeping with Technip Energies programme and of Client requirements (in offices and on-site environments).
To be responsible for follow-up and management of QHSE on projects and assigned personnel.
About You
We'd love to hear from you if your profile meets the following essential requirements :
Minimum 10 years' engineering experience or at least 8 years' experience in the oil and gas industry specifically (previous experience in a consultancy, design house, engineering contractor or operator environment).
Minimum of 5-10 years dedicated to Flow Assurance experience using in particular OLGA.
Experience in typical software is required such as OLGA, Pipesim, PVTSim, Multiflash, Ledaflow, Pipenet, Flowmaster, etc
Experience in CFD studies and associated software (Fluent, Star CCM+, Open Foam, etc) would be a plus
Knowledge of Process and past experience with associated software (Hysys, Unisim, K-spice, etc) would be a plus.
Minimum education: master degree (or international equivalent) in a subject relevant to the engineering discipline.
Experience in Conceptual and Front End engineering studies.
Working language for the role is English, which is essential as there is a high level of interfacing with international offices and clients (minimum TOIEC level 850).
French language skills are preferable, but not essential.
Good computer literacy with particular competence in MS office software.
Experience with discipline specific simulation software such as OLGA,
Good report writing, communication and social skills.
Capacity to lead small teams and projects.
Manage variations in workload, whilst always producing high quality deliverables.
Technical knowledge in related disciplines to judge and deal with problems
Ability to explain discipline engineering concepts in a straightforward manner
