Summary A Senior Finance Specialist - Digital Analytics and Operations is responsible for providing expertise in financial analysis and operations within the digital realm.
Their primary role is to analyze and interpret large sets of digital data to drive insights and recommendations for optimizing financial performance.
They also collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement financial strategies, processes, and systems that support digital operations.
Additionally, they may be involved in budgeting, forecasting, and monitoring financial metrics related to digital initiatives.
Overall, this role requires a strong understanding of finance principles, digital analytics tools, and the ability to leverage data to make informed business decisions in the digital space.
You will be part of a Finance team responsible to continue transforming our operating model, with the focus to simplify and centralize activities, leverage digital technology and artificial intelligence to improve quality, deliver efficiency and superior value to the business.
You will serve as the key resource working closely with the Digital Finance Hub in Barcelona, the first center in Novartis focusing on financial problems using data science and AI.
This is a key role responsible for the ongoing operations, maintenance, performance, and availability of Finance Data, and will ensure the timely delivery of services to the BR Finance team to support financial planning and decision-making.
About the Role Major accountabilities: Play a key role in supporting the timely delivery of transformative projects related to the development of Finance Data powerhouse.
Business partnering to identify new digital requirements across functions and drive change management to adopt solutions across the business.
Continuous identification, analysis and interpretation of trends/patterns relating to key performance indicators in complex data sets, leverage the analysis for process improvements.
Quickly learn and pilot the use of tools, data sources and analytical techniques needed to answer a wide range of critical business questions and to improve status quo.
Translate queries, such as optimization of 3rd party spend planning into analytical problems and help build solutions using visualization techniques, machine and deep learning, and statistical modelling.
Implement process improvements including trainings on products, change management and communications strategies.
Own the governance and management of relevant reporting applications (e.g., SONAR, I.AM, etc.).
Maintain the Finance Portal with all information always updated, promote sharing of best practices and knowledge to help improve efficiencies.
Manage master data updates through EBX in line with organizational and operational changes.
Be part of a team supporting the Investment Review Meeting (IRM) and the end-to-end lab equipment optimization program.
Support various projects and initiatives (e.g., KMR benchmarking, etc.).

Key Requirements: Degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting or Business.
5+ years of work experience in financial reporting, controlling and technology power user/enabler.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
Passionate about digital transformation; experience in predictive modelling and large data analysis is a plus.
Expertise in visualization tools like Qlik for crafting insights.
Proven experience in project management.
Customer centric mindset; ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Curiosity to learn and improve/simplify processes, hands-on mentality.
Confident communicator to senior management.
English fluency required (spoken and written).
