About the Role: Everest Insurance International is seeking an experienced Senior Finance Integration Data Analyst to join the finance team and lead our interactions with our IT and data architecture teams. We are embracing the agile methodology at Everest Insurance, and this is an exciting opportunity for an individual to be here at the start of our journey.
The successful candidate will be responsible for achieving outcomes for Everest by defining finance products to enhance the productivity of the finance teams. They will maximise the use of technology to drive efficiency in financial processes and reporting as well as help us build agility into our approach and thinking.
Based on the requests of your finance team colleagues, you will be responsible for designing and documenting business requirements relating to systems enhancements and reporting as well as communicating the requirements to the IT and data teams in the established demand forums and Product Increment (PI) planning sessions.
You will be expected to have detailed knowledge of finance systems as well as the underpinning data components and flows. You will bring a creative and can do mindset to help finance transform its data and reporting processes. You will work with the Finance teams to identify requirements and develop prototypes and proofs of concept. With your IT colleagues, you will analyse and propose solutions to drive value for the international finance community. With the product manager, and as a key finance liaison with IT, you will be the driving force to ensure finance related deliverables are met as per the agreed scope and in a timely fashion.
Role & Responsibilities (include but not limited to):
Understand finance user needs, including finance systems, processes and data structure in order to draft requirements and communicate to data and IT teams.
With the Finance leadership team, prioritise IT and reporting enhancements which will improve efficiency and unlock value.
Own and manage the finance inputs to the product backlog and participate in backlog grooming, working within the agile delivery framework.
Support the delivery and change management of the product, within agreed timescales, working with colleagues to ensure releases are tested, communicated and adopted by users.
Support culture change to improve delivery agility, providing coaching to team members new to agile practices.
With the data team, construct the inventory of key finance data points to support report automation. Ensure consistency of definitions and use across regions.
With Head of Financial Control, support review and assessment of controls and move towards implementation or enhancement of automated reconciliations, controls and related reports.
With IT colleagues, map/maintain documented processes of finance flows, across multiple entities and multiple systems and identify opportunities to align and standardise.
Participate in transformation projects as finance systems lead responsible for finance input, data reconciliation, data migration and UAT.
Qualifications:
A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and Computer Science Degree (or equivalent field).
Knowledge, Skills & Competencies:
Experience in financial accounting, reporting, data and systems in the insurance industry.
Knowledge of business processes and data flows across all systems within the finance architecture.
Data, process, reporting & control-oriented finance professional with proven track record in defining key data requirements to drive consistency and report automation.
Strong ability to apply critical strategic thinking to resolve problems.
Ability to form holistic view of end-to-end finance processes in designing optimal reporting solutions along with knowledge and experience across multiple ERP/Legacy systems.
Experience in mapping and developing automated financial controls and leveraging ERP and related toolsets to achieve objectives.
Ability to influence without authority and work collaboratively across multiple functions and regions.
Experience in backlog management, user story definition and agile processes is desirable.
