We work for clients from the public and private sectors.RoleWe are currently looking for an experienced environmental planner who brings expertise in the environmental scope (feasibility, impact assessment, permitting, monitoring, due diligence) of land development, building, and industrial projects in Spain. The focus of the role is to support our environment local team in Madrid, as well as contribute to the successful delivery of projects across Europe. The person will be involved in the following tasks:Preparing documentation for environmental planning and permitting (SEA, EIA, IEA).Participating in the processing of the environmental documentation.Providing environmental inputs to design projects.Supporting business leaders to secure a strong pipeline of work in Spain.Minimum RequirementsDegree qualified in a relevant discipline such as Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Forest Engineering, Ecology, or equivalent qualification.6-10 years of experience in the Spanish environmental planning and permitting regulatory framework, requirements, and stakeholders, both private and public.Experience in the development and processing of environmental planning documentation (Strategic Environmental Assessment and Environmental Impact Assessment of projects in Spain).Collaborative and team-player approach for working closely with our urban planning, design, and engineering colleagues.Fluent in English and Spanish.Valuable RequirementsExperience in managing stakeholders and negotiating with public administration bodies.Experience in industrial sites and Integrated Environmental Authorization.Experience in environmental monitoring duties during construction and operation phases of projects, undertaking site visits in Spain and internationally.Knowledge in biodiversity/ecology.ConditionsImmediate incorporation.How to Apply for This Vacancy?To apply for this vacancy, register your updated CV and a cover letter in English.Why Work at Arup?We work on innovative and international projects collaborating with different disciplines and offices around the world.
