AECOM is seeking a highly talented Senior Engineering Technician to support project production of 2D digital design and CAD deliverables on Tunnels & Ground Engineering projects. This role is based within our Global Delivery Centres (GDC) located in Spain & Poland. The Europe GDC is part of AECOM's wider Global Delivery Services team (GDS).
Key ResponsibilitiesPerforms both routine and non-routine, complex drafting/modeling assignments that require judgment in resolving issues or making recommendations.Works under limited supervision. Develops accurate 2D drawings, using different platforms, with special focus on Tunnels & Ground Engineering technical design.Ensures accuracy and quality of drawings and models generated.Acts as CAD Manager, representing a GDS team.Works in coordination with other CAD/BIM resources from different GDS offices (Spain, Poland, India, etc.).Implements CAD and graphic standards, templates for the department.Trains and oversees the day-to-day activities of other CAD technicians to ensure CAD standards are maintained in the creation of 2D deliverables.Recognizes and interprets opportunities and risks on Project delivery.Partners with GDC offices to ensure delivery and execution challenges are understood.Minimum Requirements6+ years in civil and infrastructure projects working as an engineering technician; in Bridges and Structures design projects.6+ years CAD drafting with any of the following: Autodesk AutoCAD, Civil3D, or Bentley MicroStation; software accreditation will be considered favorable.Previous experience working for Transport Authority clients in the USA and Australia will be considered favorable.Required SkillsTunnels & Ground Engineering design and construction knowledge.Tunnels & Ground Engineering design documentation terminology, CAD & graphics standards.2D documentation and CAD drafting.Advanced knowledge of CAD software settings and configuring setups and templates for Tunnels & Ground Engineering projects.Ability to work within a team and with internal and external stakeholders.Exceptional interpersonal skills and personal resilience to working to strict timelines/different styles of leadership.Performs quality control of CAD/BIM works accomplished by members of a team, assuming responsibility.Specific RequirementsExperienced Tunnels & Ground Engineering design documentation technical skillset.Experienced collaborating within the wider digital delivery team, with interfacing disciplines and stakeholders.Expert in CAD drafting with any of the following: Autodesk AutoCAD, Civil3D, or Bentley MicroStation.Proficiency in drafting using Autodesk Revit deriving drawings from 3D models will be considered favorable.Experienced using common data environments Autodesk Construction Cloud (BIM360) and Bentley ProjectWise.High level in English (oral and written).Preferred QualificationsUniversity Graduate or similar Professional Education - Engineering/BIM Technician or higher equivalent education in the field of civil/structural engineering.
