As described below, the role covers technical duties related to the Linear Infrastructure Practice Group such as geometric design (road and rail alignment), pavement design, road equipment design, etc.; but also opportunities for design management for mid-large size Road and Rail Projects. This is a key role within the Europe GDC team.Job DutiesThe key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:Collaborates with GDS leadership on the Europe GDC stand-up process.Works with GDS leadership to prepare proposals and assess packages of work susceptible of being off-shored to GDS group.Categorizes packages of work offshored to the GDS group, elaborates project execution plans for small to large size packages of work, and in combination with Home Office defines the delivery strategy, including composition of design teams.Conducting peer reviews and making technical presentations.Driving quality control of the work performed (reports, calculations, drawings, etc.) assuming responsibility.Performing different analysis and design of linear infrastructures Projects covering at least one of the following fields: geometric design (roads and rail alignment), pavement design, road equipment design (barriers, road signs, line marking, etc.), traffic staging, drainage, and stormwater design.Conducting value engineering evaluations, determining alternative designs, materials, and building techniques.Coordinating the design with other technical disciplines and stakeholders.Engaging in technical discussions with internal clients.Making decisions independently on engineering problems related to the Linear Infrastructures practice group.Thinking and working independently.Delegating work to, mentoring, training, and supervising less experienced staff to complete assignments.Complying with statutory, project, and Confidential-specific health and safety requirements.Leading small to large design teams working for internal clients, integrating resources from different GDS offices (Poland, India, etc.).Initiating and directing the planning, development, and continuous monitoring of the project scope, procedures, budget, and schedule for the packages of work off-shored to the GDS group.Reviewing and validating all comments received from Project's representatives (owners, contractors, Confidential's home offices, etc.) on a specific discipline and coordinating timely resolutions to maintain project schedule, budget, and quality requirements.Providing updates of progress to plan through dashboards, slides, and reports.Recognizing and interpreting opportunities and risks on Project delivery, in collaboration with other GDC and home offices.Training and evaluating less experienced staff.Minimum RequirementsSpecific Skills:Proven track record of working on Civil & Infrastructure Projects collaborating with international and multi-cultural teams.Experience working with international regulations and standards.Proficient in various software packages for geometric design of linear infrastructures such as: GEOPAK, INROADS, OPENROADS, CIVIL 3D, etc.Working knowledge of BIM platforms for linear infrastructure projects will be considered favorably.Diversified knowledge of technology, materials, equipment, design concepts, and construction techniques.Proven commitment to Quality Control Policy and Quality Management System.Fluent in English (oral and written).Preferred QualificationsBachelor or Master degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized University.What We OfferWe will give you the flexibility you need to do your best work with hybrid work options.
