Johnson & Johnson is currently seeking a(n) Senior Engineer, Electrical/Instrumentation to join our MAKE Asset Management Organization located in Wilson, NC.
While this role will ultimately support the site operations located in Wilson NC, this role will also be required to support the project phase across both design & construction.
For the project design phase, the role will require you to be present with our design teams in the Greater Philadelphia region.
Once the design phase is completed, this role will support the construction and operational start-up of the site.
For this, you will be required to be on site in Wilson, NC.
Based on your current location the hiring team will work with you to determine travel and relocation arrangements. In steady state, we expect travel to be less than 10%.
The Senior Engineer, Electrical/Instrumentation is responsible for the upkeep of all electrical and instrumentation systems on site, managing the technical aspects of electrical design that advance organizational strategies.
Key Responsibilities: Own site electrical infrastructure and instrumentation assets (including calibration program), acting as site SME for all operational, maintenance and project related scope.Manages assigned tasks to actualize scope of work and execution plans for electrical design and engineering projects.Completes project tasks to the estimated effort and duration and communicates completeness, schedule conflicts, and resource needs to the project manager.Defines front-level scope of technical problems, design conflicts, risks, and testing issues and collaborates with the project team to resolve them.Attends to and documents quality control issues in compliance with organizational production and design standards.Identifies and escalates to management, opportunities to improve project planning, reviews, and execution.Ensures timely and accurate completion of project documentation, including process improvements.Coaches more junior colleagues in techniques, processes, and responsibilities.Assists in construction, commissioning and qualification of equipment.Provides electrical and instrumentation technical assistance to maintenance personnel and other departments as required.Generates, reviews and revises maintenance documentation as necessary.Develops the preventive maintenance program for all electrical systems to ensure optimal reliability.Assists in selecting appropriate electrical and instrument spare parts to maximize equipment availability.Trains and coaches maintenance technicians and contractors in electrical concepts, department procedures and techniques, as required.Assists in the development of multi-skilling training programs for the site technicians. Qualifications Education (required):
Certified Electrician with a minimum of 8 years of experience in a manufacturing environment OR BS Degree in Electrical Engineering, or related discipline with a minimum of 5 years of process engineering experience in a manufacturing biopharmaceutical environment.
Required:
Experience and knowledge of medium voltage and low voltage electrical systems. Experience with calibration programs. Technical background in process and manufacturing engineering, strong analytical skills to synthesize business needs, manufacturing requirements, engineering elements, and technology inputs.
Preferred:
Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Experience with Delta V, PLC, and SCADA systems. Literacy in computer operating systems and applications, including SAP. Working knowledge of bio or pharmaceutical processes, utilities, and facilities. Working knowledge of cGMP's for Maintenance in an FDA-regulated environment. Project Management experience. FPX certification and/or Six Sigma and/or Lean experience. Experience in green or brown field GMP MFG facility start-up including process systems, automation, utilities, facilities, and operations. Knowledge of Manufacturing Equipment Excellence (ME2)/ Best Practices for Maintenance and Reliability.
