Role overviewAs a Senior DevOps Engineer at Ilkari, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining a robust, secure, and scalable cloud infrastructure, primarily based on the OpenStack platform. You will play a critical role in ensuring the sovereignty of our clients' data, aligning with our mission to empower enterprises with control over their digital assets. You'll collaborate across teams to meet business goals efficiently, streamline workflows through automation, and ensure smooth cloud operations.
What you'll do• Implement and maintain scalable and secure cloud infrastructure using OpenStack.
• Develop automation scripts and tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform) for infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and scaling.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to streamline the integration and deployment of cloud-based applications.
• Implement best practices for cloud security, including data encryption and access controls.
• Diagnose and resolve performance, availability, and security issues in the infrastructure.
• Document system configurations and troubleshooting procedures to support team knowledge sharing.
• Stay updated with the latest DevOps and cloud computing trends to integrate continuous improvements.
• Participate in on-call rotation to handle incidents and emergencies.
What are we looking forTechnical skills • Proven experience with OpenStack cloud environments focusing on scalability and security.
• Strong scripting skills (Python, Bash, PowerShell, Ruby, Go) for automation.
• Experience with infrastructure automation tools like Terraform, Ansible, or MAAS.
• Knowledge of cloud services (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Familiarity with monitoring tools (Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack).
• Understanding of networking fundamentals (DNS, TCP/IP, firewalls).
Soft skills • Strong communication skills to collaborate across development, operations, and product teams.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues in high-pressure environments.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new tools and technologies.
Relevant experience • 5+ years in DevOps or cloud infrastructure roles, with a focus on OpenStack.
• Experience with CI/CD pipeline design and implementation.
• Familiarity with cloud security best practices and compliance.
Education • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
