The Demand Planner ensures the availability of goods by preparing accurate supplier capacity plans and anticipating the effects of commercial activities.The key objective is to enable efficient production planning for our suppliers using our forecasting system as a basis. Additionally, the Demand Planner represents the department internally in terms of achieving availability targets through cross-functional collaboration.Key ActivitiesUses forecast data and customer insights to generate accurate capacity plans.Develops and implements reorder strategies to optimize inventory levels and ensure timely availability of goods.Interacts closely with Purchasing and Brand teams to align on cross-functional priorities relevant to the demand planning process.Manages the purchasing and inventory forecast in the short-term planning horizon for the product portfolio and successfully communicates it to internal stakeholders.Regularly reviews and refines forecasting and reorder quantity optimization models in response to portfolio changes and demand patterns.Mitigates risks associated with demand fluctuations through proactive planning and recommendations to the key cross-functional stakeholders.Proactively supports the business by providing up-to-availability levels, ensuring inventory is allocated according to demand and avoiding overstock.Runs weekly availability meetings.Continuously monitors the product portfolio with a special focus on just-in-time deliveries of launches, availability of bestsellers, and delivery of special items.Analyzes key performance indicators related to demand planning and inventory management and prepares regular reports to communicate recommendations to internal stakeholders.Stays informed on industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices in demand planning.Identifies opportunities for optimization within the demand planning process and the analysis and reporting tools.QualificationsDegree level education, studies in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a commercial apprenticeship with specialized further training.Several years of proven professional experience in demand planning/merchandise planning, forecasting & use of forecasting software (ideally in the e-commerce / omni-channel retail).Analytical mindset with a strong affinity for data and numbers and the ability to communicate data insights across different levels of seniority
