The RoleAs a Data Specialist, you will be responsible for designing, managing, and optimizing our cloud infrastructure related to data storage strategies. This includes overseeing schema manipulation, backup and restoration processes, retention strategies, managing diverse database technologies, and working with tools such as Kafka, Cassandra, and Elasticsearch. Additionally, the role includes managing blob storage operations, ensuring data security compliance, to keep our infrastructure highly efficient, scalable, and secure.
ResponsibilitiesDevelop, implement, and maintain cloud data storage strategies to meet business needs while optimizing costs.Manage and optimize database schemas and data models to enhance performance and scalability.Create and maintain data backup, restoration, and retention processes to ensure data integrity and compliance.Manage and maintain blob storage operations for efficient data storage and access.Collaborate with the DevOps team to build and maintain robust, scalable, and cost-effective data infrastructure.Work closely with cross-functional teams to establish best practices for database technologies, including but not limited to SQL, NoSQL, Cassandra, and Elasticsearch.Monitor and maintain data streaming platforms like Kafka to ensure reliability and performance.Troubleshoot and resolve database-related incidents, providing solutions that prevent future occurrences.Ensure data systems are secure, compliant, and optimized for efficient data access and utilization.Participate in on-call rotation to handle urgent issues. ExperienceBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).Proven experience as a Data Specialist, Data Engineer, or a similar role, working with cloud data infrastructure.Strong experience with database management and manipulation: schema design, optimization, backup, and restoration.Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, GCP) in setting up and managing data storage, including blob storage operations.Expertise in database technologies such as SQL, NoSQL, Cassandra, and Elasticsearch.Experience with data streaming platforms like Kafka.Familiarity with DevOps principles, infrastructure as code, and CI/CD tools.Strong knowledge of data security compliance requirements and practices.Experience in monitoring and optimizing cloud infrastructure costs.Problem-solving attitude and a proactive approach to optimizing data infrastructure.Excellent communication and collaboration skills.Fluent English is a must.
