.GAQ424R66Databricks is hiring a Senior Counsel, Global Employment and Litigation to provide labour, employment, litigation, and compliance support to Databricks' operations in several countries across the EMEA region.
You will report to the Databricks' Senior Director and Associate General Counsel of Global Employment and Litigation.
This is a full-time position.The impact you will have Provide pragmatic, risk-adjusted advice to Databricks' People Team and business leaders on employment-law related matters for Databricks' EMEA offices, and other global locations as assigned, including hiring, performance management and discipline, terminations, grievances and other disputes, discrimination, harassment, reasonable adjustments, leaves of absence, incentive compensation, pension and benefits matters, works council and employee delegate related matters, employee investigations, restructuring plans and redundancies, corporate development (M&A) activity.Create, review and update compensation plans, including sales compensation plans and governance policies.Monitor new laws, regulations and decisions affecting the substantive legal areas above and provide strategic, preventative advice to People Team and cross functional partners.Oversee the drafting and negotiation of employment-related agreements, including severance, separation, restrictive covenant, retention, and other employment-related agreements; draft employee-facing policies, handbooks, and other resources.Independently identify and address employment legal compliance gaps, offering proactive advice and aiding in the development of recommended actions and policies.Support and advise Employee Relations on investigations related to employee complaints and workplace concerns, as required.Manage outside counsel handling claims, dispute resolution, regulatory matters, employment and non-employment litigation and global projects, including management of budgets, directing litigation strategy, and reviewing relevant documents.Support employment-related aspects of mergers, acquisitions, strategic investments, and divestitures, including due diligence and related integration efforts.Advice and counsel will be both on daily issues and strategic and systemic matters.Identify and implement process improvements that help the legal team, the People Team and the business scale for growth.Ensure that the employment law risks for Databricks EMEA offices are managed and minimised.Support Legal department and team related projects, as assigned.What we look for Thorough knowledge of UK employment laws.Knowledge of and experience with employment laws in multiple EMEA locations.Qualified lawyer, 10+ years solid training in private practice and broad-based employment law counselling and litigation experience.Law firm experience required, additional in-house experience preferred (either in a permanent role or on a secondment)
