Job Purpose Main Tasks and Responsibilities Cloud Design and Development (70%) Demonstrate knowledge of cloud architecture and implementation features (OS, multi-tenancy, virtualization, orchestration, elastic scalability). Demonstrate knowledge of DevOps tool chains and processes. Act as a Subject Matter Expert to the organization for cloud end-to-end architecture, including AWS and future providers, networking, provisioning, and management. Demonstrate leadership ability to back decisions with research and the "why," and articulate several options, the pros and cons for each, and a recommendation. Maintain overall industry knowledge on latest trends and technology. Develop solutions architecture and evaluate architectural alternatives for private, public, and hybrid cloud models, including IaaS, PaaS, and other cloud services. Contribute to DevOps development activities and complex development tasks. Demonstrate knowledge of key cloud security standards (e.g., NIST, CIS, ISO, CSA STAR). Demonstrate knowledge of good industry practice in tiered security architecture design. Demonstrate ability to document reference architectures, network schematics, blueprints, patterns, and other types of architectural documentation. Creating or securing cloud solutions for some of the following cloud/cloud security technologies for Infrastructure, Application, and Data (i.e., IAM, SIEM, DLP). Consultation (30%) Provide thought leadership in industry and to fellow team members across business and technical project dimensions solving complex business requirements. Demonstrate forward thinking around where the organization is going and how technology can support these efforts. Advocate and define cloud architecture vision from a strategic perspective, including internal and external platforms, tools, and systems. Lead the definition and development of cloud reference architecture and management systems. Providing security review of network and system architecture designs. Operating as an IT security architect within complex projects or solution design. Requirements Education Bachelor's degree in computer science, systems analysis, or a related study, or equivalent experience. AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional or equivalent. Microsoft Certified Azure Solutions Architect Expert or equivalent. Fluent in spoken and written English. Well-developed communication and presentation skills. Experience Experience as a team lead preferred. Experience with AWS, Azure, and VMWare enterprise implementations. Exposure to multiple, diverse technologies and processing environments. Knowledge of all components of a technical architecture. Knowledge of business process re-engineering principles and processes. Strong understanding of Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), object-oriented analysis and design, and/or client/server systems. Familiarity with industry compliance and security standards including PCI DSS, SOC-1&2, ISO 27001, GDPR.
