Your responsibilities At Photonfocus you will be developing desktop applications to display and postprocess images. Each camera technology is different so you will face a new challenge every day. You will be working mainly with Visual Studio and Qt among other tools.
You will also help us to develop SDKs that serve as a bridge for the image acquisition between the camera and the custom application. You will participate in the design of the software architecture and document it with UML diagrams. You will support us to maintain our continuous integration system and code example applications in C++, C# or Python.
Implementation of GUI components, applications and SDKs for our camera platforms under Windows and Linux.
Improve the performance of existing Kernel modules: NDIS filter driver, Linux net hook, etc.
Design clean, reusable and testable code.
Maintenance of existing toolchains.
Support the sales team and customers (second and third level support).
Your profile Continuous learning drives you and you never do things the same way because you always find a way to do it better. You live and breathe C++ and you love to stay updated with the changes of the language: templates, STL, iterators, OOP, multi-thread, mutexes… are no longer Chinese words for you. You hate copy-pasting code snippets, you think it's better to write reusable code and build libraries. Once you read about design patterns you fell in love with them. VCS and bug trackers are a must to you and continuous integration is important.
We require from you: Extensive experience in C and C++ (>=C++11) (3 years minimum).
Strong knowledge of concurrency and synchronization mechanisms.
Proved experience in GUI programming (Qt, MFC, wxWidgets or similar).
Experience with CMake, Conan, Jenkins Pipelines and Docker.
Good knowledge of the English language (spoken and written) is a must.
Ability to work collaboratively within an international development team and independently.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, effective communication skills, and excellent interpersonal skills.
It would be even better if you have experience with: Network protocols: TCP, UDP, GigE Vision, ...
Image processing background.
Unit testing.
Scripting languages (e.g. Python).
OpenCV and OpenGL.
