.In the BI department, we're responsible for managing the information systems for a large multinational company, and the amount of data that we handle can be overwhelming at times. But what's really important is being able to understand that information and support the other departments so they can use it effectively. In order to succeed in this field, you need to be able to see the big picture and understand how all the different pieces fit together. Working with the Manager of Reporting, we are seeking a Sr BI Reporting Specialist to work in the BI/Reporting & Automation team. As a Reporting Specialist, you will assist the embedded analytics team in producing a best-in-class reporting suite and democratizing data access within the company. You will champion automation and dashboard use in the company and mentor embedded analysts with dashboard creation. What you will do: Become Microstrategy & Power BI expert in the company. Meet MSTR/Microsoft teams to ensure to be kept in the loop of their Product backlog, and promote internally new features released. Gather detailed requirements for each reporting request (both business requirements and data requirements) and translate them into technical designs and solutions. Prioritize reporting requirements/enhancements/bugs and execute on development and delivery. Develop best-in-class dashboard visualizations. Build reports and datasets to provision to end users; ensuring data quality, consistency in formatting, and ease of use for end users to perform their ad hoc reporting/dashboard creation. Work with large amounts of data within MS Excel including utilizing lookups, pivot tables, conditional formatting, and combining data within multiple workbooks. Train analysts and the business community in BI reporting to promote adoption of tools. Who you are: Hard skills: High level of SQL working with large datasets. Strong Excel skills. Previous analytical experience. Experience working with data visualization tools such as Microstrategy & Power BI. Knowledge of database, data warehouse design and dimensional modeling, ability to query SQL across multiple platforms. Ability to communicate to all levels clearly, concisely, and effectively in written, presentation, and verbal form. Soft skills: Strong communication skills; both verbal and writtenare essential. Flexible and highly organized with the ability to manage own workload. Excellent documentation skills. Ability to work as part of a team. Adapts well to pressured working environments and is self-motivated. Problem-solving and technically aware. Strong time management skills and the ability to multitask without direct supervision.
