In our capability wireless connectivity, we provide wireless network solutions to enable the digitalization of BASF production sites and plants.In the role of the Senior Wireless Architect you are part of our global product team, responsible for providing technology leadership for the development of wireless industrial networks and end-to-end solutions for production, technical services and logistics and contribute to the development of our wireless service portfolio in close collaboration with BASF technical experts.RESPONSIBILITIESProvides technology leadership for the development of complex end-to-end wireless technology solutions involving devices, access, distribution and core networks (LAN and WAN segments), firewalls, AAA and backend systems.Collaborate closely cross-teams with product owners, project managers, engineers, and internal business partners to understand requirements and objectives related to (wireless) network architecture.Conduct comprehensive assessments of existing IT/OT network infrastructure as input for the network design and planning process.Assesses new network requirements technically and operationally and develop end-to-end solutions and detailed architecture designs to support them, considering factors such as IT/OT system integration, performance optimization, and cyber security and ensuring adherence to design standards, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements.Create project-specific network diagrams, documentation, and implementation plans outlining proposed architectures, configurations and conduct testing and validation of network implementations.Works with service and operations teams to resolve wireless network issues that could impact BASF production sites and plants.Stays up-to-date with emerging network technologies, tests and validates new solutions and drives new innovative approaches.QUALIFICATIONSBachelor's degree or above in Computer Engineering/Computer Science/Electrical Engineering/Telecommunications or equivalent10+ years of experience in wireless network architecture design, implementation within project environments, and deployment support, ideally with a focus on IT and OT integrationExtensive hands-on experience with a broad range of wireless technologies including WiFi, 4G-LTE, 5G and IoT as well as strong knowledge of networking principles, protocols, and technologies, including TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, switching, firewalls and securityYou have experience working at the interface between IT and OT, ideally with vendors such as Cisco, PaloAlto, CheckPoint, and global integrators.Excellent communication skills in EnglishNICE TO HAVEExpertise in project management methodologies and tools, with demonstrated experience in coordinating complex network projects from inception to completion.Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and manage project stakeholdersKnowledge in Software Defined Networks (SDN) and Cloud NetworksSelf-Reliant, Self-Starting, Attitude of ownership, agile mindset and a strong desire to learnRelevant certifications (e.G., CCNA, CCNP, PMP, etc.)
