Responsibilities: Install, configure, and maintain AIX operating systems on Power Systems servers. Manage and configure VIO servers to optimize storage and network resources. Implement and monitor High Availability solutions using HACMP to ensure system reliability and uptime. Utilize HMC for server management, including system configuration, updates, and performance tuning. Monitor system performance and health using Zabbix, generating reports and alerts for any anomalies or potential issues. Perform regular system backups and disaster recovery planning in compliance with organizational standards. Troubleshoot system-related problems, analyse logs, and provide resolutions in a timely manner. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan and execute system upgrades and migrations. Develop and maintain documentation related to system configurations, processes, and procedures. Provide mentorship and support to junior team members and promote best practices in AIX administration. Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies related to AIX systems and associated tools Skills required: • Solid experience in the design, deployment and maintenance of large-scale network infrastructures. • Proficiency in network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, BGP, OSPF, etc.) and switching and routing technologies. • Advanced skills in network troubleshooting and performance analysis. • Knowledge of high availability and load balancing principles. • Proficient in scripting languages (e.g., Ansible, Shell, Perl, Python) for automation and management tasks. • Ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously. • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. • Experience with network monitoring tools such as Nagios, Zabbix, or equivalent. • Cisco certification (CCNA, CCNP) or equivalent would be an advantage.
