Accurate reporting on a timely basis is critical in this position. Below are some of the core responsibilities and requirements we envision for the role, which will be located in Madrid (hybrid mode):Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring they are accurate, complete, and in compliance with relevant accounting standards (GAAP, IFRS).Conduct variance analysis between actual results and budgets/forecasts, providing explanations and recommendations for improvements.Prepare management reports and presentations to assist with strategic decision-making.Oversee and manage the general ledger, including journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end/year-end closing processes.Ensure all financial transactions are properly recorded, filed, and reported.Reconcile accounts, including bank reconciliations, fixed assets, accruals, and intercompany accounts.Coordinate and support internal and external audits by preparing audit schedules, answering auditor queries, and implementing audit recommendations.Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting policies, procedures, and regulations.Stay updated on changes in financial regulations and standards, and implement changes as necessary.Assist in the preparation of the annual budget and periodic forecasts.Monitor budget performance and provide recommendations for corrective actions.Work with departmental managers to develop and monitor budgets.Ensure timely and accurate filing of all tax returns, including VAT, corporate income tax, and other applicable taxes.Prepare and submit tax provisions and assist in tax planning and strategy.Mentor and train junior accounting staff.#J-18808-Ljbffr
