.DescriptionISP English Teacher Role ProfilePurpose of RoleTo ensure high quality educational support for all students with English as an additional language, in order to improve their English language acquisition and access to the taught curriculum. The role involves working closely with colleagues from the EAL team, Head of Learning Support, Head of English, and all subject or class teachers in order to meet the students' needs.ISP PrinciplesBegin with our children and students. We positively engage with personal and professional development and school improvement.ISP English Teacher Key ResponsibilitiesTo improve English Language acquisition across the international school.To maintain and update a register of students receiving EAL support.To ensure that the English/EAL needs of individual students are being reviewed and met.To ensure that English/EAL support is holistic and cross-curricular where appropriate.To ensure that parents have clear and accurate information about their child's progress.To provide inclusive and appropriate education for students for whom English is an additional language, as referred by class teachers and tutors.To plan and develop differentiated approaches to facilitate access to the curriculum for identified students.To engage in co-operative/partnership teaching, individual student support, small group collaborative learning, and in-class support, as appropriate.To collaborate with the EAL team, Head of Learning Support, teachers, parents, and others to ensure that EAL students receive the most appropriate support and resources.To contribute to the professional development of staff regarding teaching and learning practices that inspire and motivate students to achieve their full potential and to engage actively in amazing learning.To assist in the smooth and effective transition of students between year groups and phases as appropriate.To utilise available data, such as CAT4, Checkpoint, teacher-set assessments etc to inform learning and teaching.To ensure that all EAL provision is properly planned and filed
