About the role
As Scrum Master, you will be joining the Cigna technology team responsible for building and maintaining applications and services supporting our International Health Business. At Cigna, Scrum Masters are servant leaders and coaches for our teams. They facilitate team events and supports teams in delivering better value, sooner, safer and happier.
You will take on multiple scrum teams responsible for delivering a new product to market. Previous experience of complex implementations of new systems is essential, whilst experience working in Spain market is preferrable.
We are rapidly expanding the team to embark on a major change initiative and your primary focus is on helping to create an environment where the Spain IT Scrum Teams can deliver high quality software with "one team" approach.
This is an exciting time to become part of the Cigna technology team, working on an initiative that is laying the foundations for our future state technology stack that will ultimately be used across our international business.
Key Responsibilities
Responsible for building high performing teams through coaching of agile principles and the use of agile frameworks (SAFe, Scrum, Kanban)
Facilitate all agile ceremonies including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, reviews, demos, retrospectives and PI planning.
Support the RTE, ensuring the PI objectives are on track, improving transparency, removing impediments, and mitigating risks.
Communicate iteration status, risks and issues with internal and external stakeholders.
Ensuring work across teams is accessible, accurate and relevant always.
Anticipate and manage the dependencies that can impact the delivery capability of your teams, driving cross team planning, collaboration, and coordination.
Understand the Accountability and Responsibility of all team members and effectively managing team capacity.
Ensure continuous improvement within and across teams, by motivating, coaching, acting as change agent and optimizing flow.
Coach and support the product owner in managing the product backlog ready for the next sprint.
Coaching Teams in organizational environments in which agile is not yet fully adopted and understood.
Track team progress with metrics like velocity, burn-down charts, and team capacity.
Provide regular updates to stakeholders and management on team performance and potential risks.
Works with Agile coaches and other Scrum Masters to grow within the role.
Product Focus – Jointly with the Product Owner, you will be responsible for understanding key business and technology objectives and strategy of the product can help their team drive towards executing these goals. You will also lead the coordination of release planning with the Product Owner
Required Skills & Experience
Fluent in Spanish & English
5 to 10 Years Extensive experience as a Scrum Master working in an enterprise level organization.
Extensive experience as a Scrum Master working in an enterprise level organisation
Good skills and knowledge of servant leadership, facilitation, conflict resolution and continuous improvement.
Strong knowledge of Agile principles and practices.
Working knowledge of agile and project management tooling including JIRA, Confluence and Microsoft Office applications.
Ability to navigate a fast paced, highly matrixed organization effectively.
Proven ability to present and communicate at all levels with clarity and precision both written and verbally
A proven ability to quickly earn the trust of sponsors and key stakeholders; mobilize and motivate teams; set direction and approach; deliver tough messages with grace; execute with limited information and ambiguity.
Experience in working with multiple Scrum Teams is a plus.
Scrum and SAFe certifications is a plus
