The Vice President, Credit Cards & Unsecured Lending, Products (the VP), provides strategic direction, leadership and oversight for the Credit Cards portfolio in Canada ensuring business strategies, plans and initiatives are delivered in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures. The VP will be responsible for leading 3 direct reports and overall responsibility for 19 team members.. Accountabilities. Leverages a customer centric orientation to strengthen Retail Bank returns and achieve shared scorecards metrics. Identifies and delivers on strategic opportunities to support Credit Card portfolio growth ambitions across shareholder and customer dimensions. Leads overall portfolio management strategy to actively monitor and improve margins and define the strategic roadmap across all products and experiences. Leads the Credit Card Team with a customer and Bank wide orientation to attract, engage and retain customers. Drives strategic direction and effectively manages 5+ external commercial relationships (incl VISA, Amex, MasterCard) to achieve strategic objectives and create long term value for the Bank. Delivers on a comprehensive product simplification strategy and defines ongoing strategies to further simplify and streamline operations. Partners across the Canadian Bank ecosystem to identify revenue opportunities and collaborate from point of ideation to execution with functional and channel partners. Identified and delivers on multiyear strategic CX, product and feature roadmap across all channels with a focus on innovative solutions to meet customer payments and borrowing needs. Builds a high-performance environment and implements a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops and motivates their team by fostering an inclusive work environment and using a coaching mindset and behaviours; communicating vison/values/business strategy; and, managing succession and development planning for the team.. Directs day-to-day activities in a manner consistent with the Bank's risk culture and the relevant risk appetite statement and limits. Communicates the Bank's risk culture and risk appetite statement throughout their teams.. Creates an environment in which his/her team pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Guidelines for Business Conduct.. Education / Experience. 10+ years? experience in credit cards and/or payments. Recognized and resilient team leader who inspires a results-oriented customer-centric culture. Exceptional business planning, strategy development and execution skills. Proven relationship management skills with demonstrated seamless collaboration across multiple stakeholders..
