We are currently recruiting a motivated Scientist with experience in assay development and assay automation to work for a prominent spin-off biotechnological company in Barcelona.
Nuage Tx develops potent and selective drugs targeting disease-related proteins with disordered regions previously considered undruggable, exploiting cutting-edge knowledge in biomolecular condensation.
As part of Nuage Tx's growth plan, we are seeking a Scientist with experience in assay development and assay automation.
Strong communication skills to work in an interdisciplinary team, excellent experimental skills, and good command of spoken and written English are required.
The Scientist will be a member of the Nuage Tx's RD team and report to the Project Manager.
Key duties: Perform development of high-throughput assays using in vitro purified recombinant proteins in a precise and accurate manner.
Support performing high-throughput screening campaigns using the developed assays.
Design and establish protocols for scale-up, optimization, and automation of laboratory processes, workflows, and biophysical assays.
Identify and implement improvements to high throughput data analysis.
Support maintaining and adapting tools for our internal compound and data management platform.
Perform data analysis and draw conclusions based on scientific literature and internal know-how.
Visualize data in a comprehensible manner and communicate it to the multidisciplinary scientific team.
Prepare recommendations for follow-up studies based on consolidated feedback.
Provide support to the rest of the RD team as requested by the supervisor.
Keep data organized and report the results timely in the electronic lab notebook and to the supervisor.
Prepare specific reports as requested.
Stay updated on the scientific advances in the relevant fields by reading literature and attending scientific and industry conferences.
Provide summaries and recommendations based on the obtained knowledge.

Requirements: MSc or PhD in biochemistry, biophysics, or another relevant field.
3+ years of experience in a biomedical laboratory on assay development and performing high-throughput screening campaigns.
Candidates with experience in the private sector will be prioritized.
Extensive experience and knowledge in the development of high-throughput assays.
Preferred experience also includes: Experience with recombinantly expressed proteins, including knowledge of properly handling them and developing protein-based assays.
Knowledge of laboratory automation equipment and workflows.
Experience in data analysis and data management.
Expertise in compound registry and compound management will be valued.
Ability to design and perform experiments in a systematic, precise, and independent manner.
Efficient time management and capability to deliver high-quality results within set timelines.
Attention to detail and meticulous approach when working at the bench.
Experience with programming languages (Python or R) for data analysis and designing automated workflows will be valued.
Knowledge in analytical techniques for protein QC (SDS-PAGE, SEC, MS, DLS) will be valued.
Capability to analyze, visualize and communicate scientific findings to multidisciplinary teams.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a dynamic team of scientists and experts.
