IrsiCaixa is seeking a highly motivated Scientific Research Data Manager to drive the strategic development of our data management practices. As a leading institution in biomedical research, IrsiCaixa generates and handles significant volumes of complex data that are critical for advancing scientific knowledge in infectious diseases, immunity, and cancer. The successful candidate will join the Data Analysis Unit, collaborating closely with researchers and the Project and Clinical Management Department to enhance our data governance framework for managing and leveraging biomedical research data. Job Duties Develop and maintain data governance policies and procedures, with a focus on adherence to FAIR principles and GDPR policies, aligning with the European standards for scientific data management. Collaborate with researchers to identify data management needs, offering expertise on best practices for data collection, storage, and documentation. Provide guidance on DPMs during the research project lifecycle, including advising on storage, backup, archiving, and budgetary considerations in collaboration with the Project Management Team. Work with IT Department to design and maintain databases, ensuring robust data security, accessibility, and compliance with relevant regulatory frameworks. Provide training and support to researchers on data management best practices and tools, fostering a data-driven culture of compliance and excellence in scientific data management. Facilitate data sharing and collaboration between research teams within the organization and with external partners. Candidate Profile and Qualifications Strong understanding of regulatory requirements related to biomedical data management in the framework of FAIR data principles and GDPR policies, on compliance with national and European health research data management regulations. Knowledge of databases such as Dataverse and REDCap. Knowledge in defining and managing scientific metadata and ontologies (OMOP). Aware of open science initiatives. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Ability to work independently and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams. Good interpersonal skills. Fluency in spoken and written English.
