DEIMOS is looking for Synthetic Aperture Radar Data Analyst (SAR Processing Analyst) to join the Artificial Intelligence and Computer Vision (AICV) Competence Centre of the Avionics Business Unit, within the Flight Systems Directorate.
The SAR Processing Analyst will lead and contribute to the development of innovative algorithms for processing Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) data.
The role will focus on leveraging both traditional signal processing techniques and cutting-edge machine learning approaches to enable on-board and on-ground processing of SAR data.
This position requires an understanding of SAR systems, image formation, and advanced data processing methods.
Location: Selected candidates will have the option to work in any of the following Deimos sites they are legally entitled to work in.
Harwell (UK) Madrid (Spain) Lisbon (Portugal) Bucharest (Romania) Duties: The main responsibilities are: Design, develop, and improve high-quality SAR processing models using traditional processing techniques.
Collaborate with machine learning engineers, data scientists, and domain experts to integrate machine learning solutions with traditional SAR techniques for improved performance.
Coordinate dataset generation and validation to ensure data and labels are physically consistent with the underlying SAR problem, whilst also being compatible with the ML learning tasks.
Evaluate quality of the processing pipeline for SAR image formation, data compression, feature extraction, and classification based on current State of the Art.
Present and document results, progress, and findings for technical reviews, external stakeholders, and conferences.
Education: Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, GIS, Machine Learning, Data Science, Physics, or related fields.
Professional Experience: The position will be tailored to the level of experience Technical Requirements: Required: Experience in radar data processing, including image formation, pre and post processing techniques.
Strong understanding of signal processing, Fourier analysis, and SAR-specific image formation algorithms.
Experience with data augmentation, feature extraction, and model evaluation techniques specific to radar data.
Highly Desirable: Understanding of Machine Learning and Computer Vision techniques.
Experience working on aerospace-related projects.
Experience with Linux systems and cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, etc.)
Experience developing embedded ML applications (C++, CUDA, TensorRT) Language Skills: Good level of English, spoken and written.
