Sales Tax Accountant

Position: Sales Tax Accountant Location: Melville, NY (Hybrid Schedule) About the Role Our client, a well-established leader in the Imaging and Office Equipment industry, is seeking a detail-oriented Sales Tax Accountant.

This role offers a unique hybrid schedule with one-week in-office per month, providing both flexibility and hands-on collaboration with our finance team.

As a Sales Tax Accountant, you'll play a critical role in managing the company's multi-state sales tax compliance while contributing to the broader financial strategy.

Key Responsibilities: Prepare, review, and file multi-state sales and use tax returns using Vertex, ensuring compliance with state and local regulations.

Conduct in-depth research on tax regulations for products and services to maintain compliance and minimize liabilities.

Collaborate with the finance team to implement efficient tax practices and reduce the overall tax burden.

Qualifications: Education : Bachelor's degree in Accounting (CPA designation is a plus).

Experience : 3-5 years of multi-state sales tax accounting experience, with a strong understanding of sales and use tax compliance.

Technical Skills : Proficiency in Vertex Returns or similar tax management systems.

Familiarity with Oracle and Tableau is a plus.

Advanced Excel skills for data analysis and reporting.

Soft Skills : Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and interact effectively across teams.

Work Schedule This role is primarily remote, with a requirement to be in the office for one week each month (preferably before the 20th) to collaborate and align with key stakeholders.
