Your Mission:
The Sales Engineer is part of the rapidly growing AfterShip go-to-market organization. The primary goal of this role is to successfully increase the sales and adoption of the AfterShip solutions by working alongside the Account Executives and Customer Success Managers to effectively demonstrate AfterShip's offerings to and answer technical questions for mid market to enterprise-level corporate prospects.
This Sales Engineer will work closely with the Sales and Customer Success teams to ensure the prospective client understands their requirements are met with AfterShip's products, ready to begin onboarding and have technical & project based resources secured to start implementing. This is a high-impact position within AfterShip's global team, reporting into the Manager, Sales Engineering based in North America. As such, there may be the need to work outside of regular office hours for team meetings or in order to collaborate with members of the team in North America or APAC (up to 2 - 4 times a week remotely). Meetings outside of regular business hours are planned with advance adequate notice.
What You'll Do:
Engage with clients in a consultative manner to understand their business challenges and requirements
Serve as the primary, ongoing technical point of contact for our prospects in presales
Work to help vet and close deals from a technical requirements perspective
Become a subject matter expert on AfterShip's products, platform and ecosystem
Deliver product Proof of Concepts (POCs) and demonstrations that are tailored to the prospect's key use cases, business requirements and stakeholder audience
Develop and present technical proposals, architectures and statements of work (SOWs) to our clients
Answer questions about AfterShip's APIs, webhooks and integrations for our clients and partners
Manage and drive RFP/Is and Security Questionnaires
Conduct technical design thinking workshops & presentations to articulate AfterShip's value proposition and solution offerings
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure alignments between client requirements and AfterShip's capabilities
Who We're Looking For:
4+ years of experience in B2B pre-sales solutions engineering, sales engineering, or in a technical sales or consulting role
A Bachelor's degree is required, preferably in a technical field
Excellent presentation and communication skills
Have recent customer-facing consulting experience with SaaS implementations and deployments
Self-motivated to dig in to learn about products, technology, customers and competitors
Familiarity with eCommerce platforms (e.g. Netsuite, Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics, Shopify, Magento, BigCommerce)
Knowledge of APIs and previous exposure to programming languages like Go, Node.js, Java, React, and TypeScript – You won't need to write code, but you will need to be able to effectively collaborate between our clients and our Product and Engineering teams
Strong project management and resource management skills
Ability to manage numerous prospects simultaneously and work well under deadlines
Ability to work successfully as part of an international team
Native or near-native level fluency of English is required (C2+), with working level proficiency in French (B2+) as an asset
Located in Barcelona, Spain, with experience working in an international team preferred
