Position Summary: Responsible for the overall implementation, monitoring, compliance, and improvement of all related occupational safety and health concerns.
Job Scope: All Manufacturing facilities and site/complex.
Duties & Responsibilities: Recommend plans and develop accident prevention programs for the establishment to be evaluated by SO3. Direct the accident prevention efforts of the establishment in accordance with the safety programs, safety performance, and government regulations to prevent accidents from occurring in the workplace. Member of the Environmental Health and Safety Committee who will attend a monthly regular meeting. On-time submission of Periodic Reports required by regulatory agencies (DOLE, BFP, etc.) and checked by immediate superior. Maintain liaison activities with the City/Provincial/Municipal and/or local safety officers. Attend pertinent meetings of Safety Officers which may be called by regulatory agencies together with Safety Officer 3. Facilitate the compliance of the establishment with the requirements initiated or implemented by the regulatory agencies. Process, apply for, and renew necessary permits, licenses, and certificates related to occupational health and safety. Handle other matters of occupational health and safety concerns as required by immediate superior or management. Develop, implement, and review occupational health and safety policy, programs, and procedures. Assist the company in complying with current occupational health and safety legislation and regulations to ensure that all reasonable and proper measures are taken to protect the safety and health of employees and visitors. Establish budget proposals for the operations of the occupational health and safety office and specific training programs. Increase occupational health and safety awareness and training at all levels within the organization. Investigate and report on all serious/critical personal injury accidents occurring to employees and/or visitors to the appropriate senior official, and assist in the investigation of all accidents/incidents that result in substantial injury and damage to property. Develop and maintain disaster contingency plans and organize necessary emergency service units to handle disaster situations pursuant to the emergency preparedness manual for establishments of civil defense. Respond to employees' occupational health and safety concerns. Conduct safety inspections of any company facility as necessary. Respond to different emergency situations. Recommend system improvements through review and revision of all SOPs pertaining to Safety. Assume other duties as may be assigned. Facilitate the conduct of Emergency Drills such as fire, oil spill, and earthquake as required by regulatory agencies. Monitor Key Performance Indicators for Safety management. QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Preferably a licensed Engineer of appropriate discipline; or a graduate of any four (4) year course.
Years of Related Work Experience: At least two (2) years experience in a manufacturing firm with a background in occupational health and safety management.
Job Skills/Competencies Required: Must have completed the 40-hour Basic Occupational Safety and Health Training Course. Another forty-eight (48) hours of advanced/specialized occupational safety training course relevant to the industry. Must be responsible, hardworking, honest, and trustworthy. Must be proactive, flexible, aggressive, and dynamic; good oral and written communication skills are required; must be computer literate. Job Type: Full-time
