Safety Manager Safety Manager (Full-Time) The Toledo Zoo & Aquarium The Toledo Zoo & Aquarium is seeking a Full-time Safety Manager to establish, implement, oversee, and enforce effective workplace health and safety programs, ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, local, and AZA regulations/standards, and to foster a culture of safety awareness and compliance to ensure the welfare of employees, volunteers, guests, contractors, and vendors.
The Safety Manager is key in developing, updating, delivering, and maintaining employee training, record-keeping, safety incident investigations and mitigation, safety and fire inspections, the Zoo's emergency management plan, and general compliance to meet OSHA requirements.
This role will also oversee the inventory of PPE, Safety Data Sheets, and First Aid equipment/supplies on a routine basis.
This position reports to the Vice President of Security and Safety Operations.
This position is exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act and requires time worked in excess of forty hours per week.
Minimum Training and Experience Requires an associate degree in safety or related field.
Bachelor's degree preferred.
Or, equivalent work experience.
Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
Two years of safety experience or two years of work experience in a related field required.
Knowledgeable in OSHA safety regulations.
OSHA certification and COSS certification preferred.
Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, safety management software and reporting tools.
Requires flexibility in work scheduling to include evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
Must have a valid drivers' license and be insurable by the fleet insurance carrier.
