The primary responsibilities of the role are to manage crucial partnerships, provide technical expertise in identifying, evaluating, and driving multi-cloud and open-source-based data and insight platforms and systems as well as developing and exercising robust project control of key projects in the Vegetable R&D portfolio. This involves collaborating with a diverse group of global cross-functional scientists, engineers, developers, breeders, and IT teams.YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIESDefine strategies and engineering guidelines for adopting enterprise data platforms and cloud systems (i.E., data streaming, notifications, others).Implement efficient data access control mechanisms to different raw data sources both on premises and cloud environment.Identify, design, and implement internal processes for the improvement of automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, and redesigning infrastructure for greater scalability and execution.Design, plan, build, and maintain optimal data pipeline architecture.Support the integration with existing and new enterprise data analytics solutions.Participate in data warehouse by continuously improving ELT and ETL processes for the data lakes and data warehouses.Support software architecture decisions by writing, maintaining, and reviewing software code and ensuring the code quality by automated testing.Follow Bayer and industry best practices.Architect, build and manage a robust, scalable, data pipeline in a hybrid cloud environment that provides data processing capabilities to meet functional/non-functional business requirements.Support the development of continuous integration and continuous deployment processes and infrastructure.Assemble large, complex data sets (e.G., text, time series, imagery) into a useful format for analysis using fit-for-purpose data and insights-driven technologies.Mentor engineering staff within the platform in technical development, including best practices and standards for software development.Improve scrum team maturity and effectiveness by providing guidance and leadership in the scrum ceremonies and in backlog refinement
