Position Overview IRB Barcelona seeks a motivated Computational Biologist for the Quantitative Stem Cell Dynamics lab.
The lab focuses on developing biotechnology to discover intrinsic regulators of stem cell heterogeneity in native hematopoiesis, leukemia, and beyond.
The Bioinformatician will be funded through the project "Mechanisms of acute myeloid leukemia therapy resistance and plasticity (AMLTRAP)" awarded by the 'Agencia Estatal de Investigación' in 2021.
Duties Carry out analyses of single-cell omics, together with other 2 Bioinformaticians (a PhD student and a Postdoc).
Develop standardized in-house workflows to process NGS data using workflow management tools (Snakemake, Nextflow, etc).
Collaborate with wet and dry PhD students and Postdocs in the conceptualization of new computational analyses.
Communicate results both as group meeting presentations and as reports.
Explore new methodologies of quantitative analysis.
Participate in scientific discussions.
Write manuscripts together with other researchers.
Engage in career development activities, outreach, and soft-skill training.
Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Selection Criteria Must Have - Required BSc/MSc in Systems Biology, Bioinformatics, Biostatistics or other quantitative fields.
Advanced knowledge of programming for sequence analysis (Python / R / Julia).
Knowledge in multivariable data analysis and data visualization.
Fluency in English.
Desirable Experience in single-cell sequencing data analysis.
Experience in analysis of chromatin accessibility and immunoprecipitation.
Good understanding of statistical learning models.
Background in Developmental Biology or Cancer Biology.
Experience in international teams.
Good communication skills.
