We are part of Vodafone Business Product Engineering and we are looking for a Platform Engineering Manager within our Mobile Private Networks, Cloud and Edge Computing portfolios.
Responsibilities: Lead a team of software engineers to design and build our internal platforms.
Adopt Agile ways of working and implement DevSecOps practices within the team.
Gather requirements, with the larger team, to define high-level architecture, collaborate with developers across the team on design.
Review and approve design.
Planning budget, resources, and tools to deliver against our roadmap.
Drive all aspects of the development, including requirements definition, design, implementation, unit testing, and integration.
Oversee detailed designs, implementation, and test plan reviews to ensure high-quality deliverables.
Work closely with stakeholders to provide status, iterative releases, and make design decisions throughout the development.
What you bring: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline or work experience.
Over 10 years experience in creating and running an engineering for real-time, highly scalable platforms.
Over 5 years of experience in multi-tier delivery structures (e.g., off-shore, on-shore, multi-vendor).
This includes execution, sourcing and commercial contracts.
5 years of relevant work experience in platform software development (e.g., AWS web services, CI/CD tools, Terraform, Kubernetes, Docker, Observability, Kafka).
4 years of hands-on technical leadership and people management experience.
Multiple year experience platform software development.
Multiple year large-scale distributed systems design experience.
Preferred: Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related degree.
Over 8 years of experience in system-level software development, with 5 years of technical leadership and people management experience.
Large-scale distributed systems design experience.
Experience with one or more general purpose programming languages not limited to: Python, Go, JavaScript.
