We serve global food companies and regional food companies worldwide.The purpose of the role:The EHS (Environmental, Health and Safety) Lead will take ownership to embed a firm and strong culture throughout the whole unit.
He/she is responsible for rolling out the strategy defined into an action plan for EHS, ensuring the site complies with legislation and shares best practices at all levels.Responsibilities:Develop and implement the EHS plan for the South European Business Unit, ensuring the culture is intrinsic within the organization in close collaboration with the BU Leadership team.Provide advice and guidance to all levels of the organization on EHS and legislative issues, ensuring that good and timely business decisions are made.Identify and record EHS training needs, along with Line Managers, providing training and development as required on a company, departmental, and individual level.Develop, implement, and maintain plans, policies, and procedures relating to the EHS Policy Manual.Ensure EHS internal and external audits are carried out in a timely manner and corrective actions are documented and closed within the specified time frame.Ensure Accident Investigation and Reporting requirements are carried out and that appropriate corrective actions are agreed and completed in a timely manner.Ensure that all necessary licenses, permits, and authorizations are in place and renewed as required by current governmental legislation and best practices.Monitor and maintain any specified conditions or action levels within prescribed limits.Ensure that all kinds of risk assessments are carried out as required and that the site acts on any recommendations made to reduce harmful exposures and ensures implementation of the recommendations.Coordinate the HS committee meetings on a monthly basis ensuring consistent progress is made towards the actions.Continuously look for ways to improve our commitment to the environment, creating and implementing action plans to reduce waste, emissions, etc.
We aim to be zero to landfill in the most labor-effective fashion.Support the European and global HS initiatives by reviewing and improving the South European sites in relation to the corporate guidelines.Requirements:Bachelor's or master's degree in Health and Safety or related field or equivalent experience.Hands-on with great ability to deal with people at all levels of the organization essential.Proven change management experience concerning EHS.Experience in delivering training and development.Good up-to-date knowledge of Spanish EHS legislation.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
