Description: To ensure power generation projects grid connections are delivered fulfilling DNO / TSO requirements, defining technical specifications, optimizing the designs within high-class quality standards and in a cost-effective manner, plus to ensure that grid code compliance is appropriately managed and maintained throughout the development process and the lifetime of the asset.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide technical assistance during project development and ensure the factors concerned to the grid transmission and connection are considered.Provide advice and assessments on better project interconnection points that minimize curtailments by managing appropriate congestion tools.Define grid connections design that reduce installation time and cost whilst maintaining or improving plant.Define and specify best technical solution based on the asset requirements.Carry out technical due diligence and risk assessment on grid connection.Carry out inspections for feasibility checks and alignment with the project requirements.Ensure the compliance of P-Q requirements in the PoI.Ensure that authorization documentation in relation to the connection requests and technical approval are successfully submitted.Coordinate the preparation of the technical documentation relating to the transmission and/or connection projects to be authorized.Manage Technical Advisors and Consultants to support related activities.Maintain relationships with DNO / TSO to support the grid application.Lead and negotiate together with Construction area the development of EPC / ICP Contract Technical Appendices and Major Equipment Technical specifications.Interact and support construction and business areas and serve as main point of competence for its area of knowledge.Support the operation and maintenance of the plants by providing grid expertise to the Asset Manager and O&M team managers.Requirements:
Engineering degree associated with electrical power systems and/or electrical engineering.Candidates with power flow/voltage and stability simulations in DigSilent and PSSE, or similar, will be given priority.Proven track record and experience in a similar role for more than 6 years.Candidates with experience of working directly for DNOs and/or other IPP are preferred.Familiar with DNO and TSO standards.Candidates with experience in the design and construction of HV stations and power lines will be preferred, both overhead and underground.Good understanding of Grid Connection Agreements in Spain and US ISO.Experience in projects in North America, Spain and Australia will be valued.Available to travel as per projects/opportunities needs.Strong communication and collaborative skills, strategic vision, push to make things happen, and appetite to succeed and commercially astute. Proactive, autonomous, flexible and able to prioritize. Anticipation capacity and problem solver and solution provider. Fluent English is a must (C1).
