As Senior Business Planning Analyst - GDD you will be responsible for the Business Planning & Analysis of Global Drug Development (GDD) line functions (Trail Monitoring, Regulatory Affairs, Patient Safety, QA, CPO Medical, etc.) and global trial spend for 2-3 countries. You will work closely with country GDD Line Function heads in order to drive performance, productivity, financial forecast, operational efficiencies, strong financial control environment and continuous process improvements.
As part of the role you should also drive change and innovation in day-to-day processes by providing streamlined and automated solutions where possible and to reach standardized, simple and efficient processes within the different countries of the Hub.
Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Business Planning: Proactively partner with internal customer groups to prepare and challenge short-term plans (budgets, latest outlooks and latest forecasts) for expenses and headcount, as well as identifying and communicating financial Risks and Opportunities, cost savings and productivity initiatives associated with those plans.Support the month-end closing process by reviewing and analyzing actual costs, expenses provisions and headcount reports, and taking the necessary corrective actions or adjustments before local closing. Ensure that headcount and costs are reported according to global guidance.Liaising with management, trial managers and support functions to optimize trial resource allocation and lifetime budgets: TCFs financial planning, challenging and investigating actual spend and ensuring proper follow-up on corrective actions. Responsible for refund process with HQ and balance sheet account reconciliation.Support GDD in projects or special tasks assigned such as trainings, cross-country reviews, clinical trials consultancy, R&D related tax topics, etc.Reporting Solutions & Compliance:Report the Budget and LOs in corporate tools and systems within local and global timelines. Prepare detailed monthly financial reporting for local and region management.Ensure compliance of GDD financial processes to NFCM and control risks (e.g. Tax).Drive change and innovation in day-to-day processes by providing streamlined and automated solutions where possible.Commitment to Diversity & Inclusion:Novartis is committed to building an outstanding, inclusive work environment and diverse teams representative of the patients and communities we serve.
