Head of Tax Structure & Planning - All Genders Location: Madrid, Spain The Role in a Snapshot: Join us as the Head of Tax Structure, Planning and Compliance at GoStudent, where you will play a crucial role in recommending alternative tax treatments to alleviate or reduce the company's tax burden, handle tax accounting and reporting, and optimise VAT, CIT, and Commercial Tax for the group's legal entities, contracts and GoToMarket strategies.
You will also be responsible for preparing and maintaining tax records, returns, reports, and other related materials, ensuring compliance with current tax legislation and practices.
Your Role in Our Journey: Develop and execute tax planning strategies aligned with the company's overall financial goals.
Monitor and assess the impact of new and existing tax laws on the company's operations and financials.
Review the group's legal entity structure, contract setups, and flow of goods to identify and optimise VAT, CIT, and Commercial Tax.
Analyse service and cash flow arrangements to ensure tax efficiency and compliance.
Work closely with legal and financial teams to restructure entities and contracts as necessary.
Continuously seek new ways of working to make tax processes run smoother and faster.
Execute new and alternative ideas and approaches to enhance tax function efficiency.
Lead initiatives to automate and streamline tax processes using the company's existing tech stack.
Provide technical accounting guidance and support on complex transactions.
Stay updated with the latest accounting standards and updates to ensure accurate financial reporting.
Collaborate with the finance team to address technical accounting issues.
Look for ways to minimise the organisation's tax liability through effective tax planning.
Prepare, maintain, and analyse corporate tax documents to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Your Impact: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) or equivalent certification preferred.
Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in tax accounting or related fields.
Strong knowledge of EU and country-specific tax laws and regulations.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Proficient in accounting software.
Strong communication skills in English and German, both written and verbal.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.
