Assistant Station ManagerThe Assistant Station Manager is responsible for the cultivation and maintenance of crops and facilities. This includes leading the day-to-day activities of the station and rental locations: preparation of the field or greenhouse compartment, sowing, transplanting, nutrition, irrigation, crop protection, disease control, climate control, crop management, general maintenance of the field, and rotation of the crops.
The position is also in charge of the maintenance of equipment and greenhouses. Furthermore, this position will be responsible for a large number of temporary workers as well as a considerable number of fixed employees working on the farm. Thus, proven leadership of temporary and fixed employees as well as strong organizational skills are necessary.
The work is performed in collaboration with the breeding teams to understand the purpose of the trials conducted at the research facilities (farm). Priority crops include tomato, pepper, melon, and watermelon, and experience with most of these crops is desired.
