Purpose of role: To manage all aspects of the day to day import/export activities of Primark in Spain.
Key Responsibilities:Assists with the day to day operational aspects of Primark's Spanish Customs declarations and highlighting any potential risk or irregularities to the Customs analyst.Ensure all data and any documentation required to enable efficient Customs clearance are obtained in a timely manner and manage any missing data or documents effectively.Ensure any preference certificates or statements of origin are present to enable Primark to take advantage of the lower rates of duty offered through one of the European Union's preference agreements.Assist with communication with relevant Customs authority in the first instance and then with the inbound destination team to position containers in the depot where physical inspection has been requested by the Customs authorities.Working with the Customs Compliance and Audit team, ensure all regulatory certification requirements for that jurisdiction have been completed to allow the import declaration to be submitted in a timely manner (e.g., PDD, CITES, ADD, etc.
).Proactively engage colleagues with new initiatives to improve processes.Ensure strict standards are maintained.Assist the Customs Analyst (Spain) with other work as required and ad-hoc projects.Essential knowledge, skills and experience:Good verbal and written communication skills.Ability to build good working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.Some knowledge of EU and Spanish Customs Regulations.Good Excel skills and good experience of other Microsoft Office programmes.Fluent in English and Spanish languages (verbal and written).
