This project is a collaboration between Tel Aviv University (Prof. Satchi-Fainaro) and the University of Lisbon (Prof. Florindo), focused on developing translational dual nano-immunotherapy to re-educate host immunity against PDAC (Pancreatic Ductal Adenocarcinoma).
The goal is to restore stromal homeostasis and generate local effector immunity.
The PhD student at CIPF will be responsible for the following tasks: Synthesis and characterization of dual nano-immunotherapy: This will involve developing two nanoparticle systems: NP1: A modular, DC-targeted nanovaccine to modulate host adaptive immunity and promote the infiltration of TLS-inducing immune cells.
NP2: A multivalent targeted nanoconjugate for delivering drug combinations.
Evaluation of NP1 and NP2 impact: The PhD student will assess the effects of NP1 and NP2, individually and in combination, on the activation of DCs, NK cells, T cells, and B cells, as well as the function of endothelial cells, both in vitro and ex vivo.
In vivo studies: The project will also involve evaluating the safety of the nanomedicine formulations and studying their biodistribution in vivo.
Basic job requirements: Required degree: The candidate must hold a Spanish degree or bachelor's degree in Health Sciences, Chemistry, Pharmacy, or Biotechnology.
Must have a minimum average academic grade of 7.5 points or higher in their degree.
Must not hold a PhD.
High level of proficiency in both spoken and written English.
Experience in Polymer Therapeutics, synthesis, and characterization.
