Job Description and DutiesCOVID-19 Vaccine Mandate: The California Department of Public Health (CDPH) issued an Order on August 19, 2021, which requires workers in healthcare settings at all local and state correctional facilities and detention centers to be vaccinated against COVID-19.
Therefore, all workers identified under the CDPH Order are required to either be vaccinated or submit a medical or religious accommodation.
While working through either of these interactive processes, staff shall wear an N95 mask and test twice-weekly (with at least 72 hours between each test) until they comply with the August 19, 2021 CDPH Order.Position: Limited Term 12 months; may be extended up to 24 months or become permanent.Under the administrative supervision of the Employee Health (EH) Registered Nurse (RN), Correctional Facility (CF), and the clinical supervision of the Nursing Consultant (NC) III (Supervisor), the Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) at the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation provides clinical and administrative support to the NC III and EH RN with communicable disease infection prevention and control activities including, but not limited to, the COVID-19 prevention and response program.
The LVN will assist the health care team in rapidly identifying employees who are either confirmed, probable, or exposed to COVID-19 or other communicable diseases and taking the appropriate measures, including testing, to decrease the likelihood of further transmission to the institution population and staff.The LVN is responsible for addressing the ongoing needs of the employees, working with the health care team, and promoting the efficient, appropriate, and cost-effective use of health care resources.
