PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
As our Revenue Manager, you will be the focal point of helping us to achieve our performance across our short term stay targets within the business.
Your role will involve oversight of our two new hybrid residences in Madrid and Valencia which combine exceptional student living with short term hotel stays.
In addition, you will assist with our summer business plans across all locations. Based at our Madrid office, you will oversee all hotel bookings for our Madrid (100 keys) and Valencia (40 keys) business across the year.
You will also assume control of our summer business at these assets as they flex to full hotel model in July and August (a further 650 keys).
You will oversee the revenue management tools, OTA relationships, 3rd party bed buy relationships, corporate relationships and any other relationships to improve our revenue performance.
KEY TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES (include but are not limited to)
What you'll do
Implement revenue management operations, procedures and best practices.
Identify new revenue opportunities.
Provide daily, weekly and monthly reporting.
Optimize and expand distribution partnerships.
Support and recommend assets to improve service levels and operational standards.
Build and maintain strong working relationships with levels of staff at the assets.
Embed a revenue management culture.
How you'll do it
Oversee revenue management and distribution strategy of the asset and manage day-to-day yield operations.
Daily pick-up analysis, strategy adjustments and reporting.
Perform competitive benchmark studies and follow market trends.
Create and maintain a rolling demand calendar.
Create and develop pricing strategies in conjunction with the individuality of each hotel.
Provide a weekly dynamic forecast of expected results, variances and budget comparisons.
Manage and oversee strategy for all 3rd party distribution.
Responsible for assessing, analysing and pricing group business strategies.
Analyze overall monthly hotel performance and provide a summary report with recommendations to improve long-term strategies.
Ensure all related systems are configured correctly, validated and working to full capacity.
Oversee and audit the standards and operations of the reservations department.
Ensure web site booking process is maintained up-to-date and functional.
Ensure hotel personnel is fully competent in the use of all systems.
Regularly check the input and the quality of data (segmentation, denials tracking, etc.).
Conduct quarterly property performance reviews and develop strategic and tactical action.
Responsible for best practice standards to include: competitor analysis; environmental scanning; market modelling; distribution yield management; business mix yield management; length of stay yield management; inventory availability by channel; pricing control and new pricing concepts.
Evaluate the performance of distribution partners and contracted rates (OTA, FIT, tour operator, corporate, consortia, crew, groups, etc.).
Reduce the cost of distribution by finding new less expensive means of delivering business.
Prepare an outline for and support the annual revenue budget process.
Inspire asset teams to further embed a revenue management culture.
Advise and coach the business in other operational areas.
Visit the hotels to get first-hand knowledge of all revenue management issues and other key areas.
Any other reasonable requests made by management.
Requirements
2-4 years of hands-on Hotel Revenue Management experience.
A strong command of both written and spoken English and Spanish is required; additional languages are an asset.
Knowledgeable of hotel technology.
Bachelors in Hotel Management, Tourism or Economic Studies preferred.
Must be an EU citizen or in possession of a Spanish work visa.
Highly computer literate with a high level command of Excel.
